Re: The Wrestling thread
Right so PPV last night, it was okay if your expectations were ridiculous low. That said, fucking boring.
If you had asked who would have won each match before RAW using WWE logic, you could have predicted every match. Apparently the fuss the fans made on Monday over Bryan had no affect, they still had him lose with a whimper all be it in a handicap match.
Orton/Cena you have to be really generous to say this was anything, I found it boring and cliched even by TLC standards. For example Cena puts Orton through a table outside from the ring, then slowly, slowly sets up a ladder despite not selling an injury. He then climbs the ladder very slowly, grabs the belts (he did this several times), but doesn't pull? I'm sorry, but I've seen ladder matches before, this was boring and bad acting. The swerve though of the night was that it was clean (well he didn't pin him).
Punk beat the Shield in a 3 on 1 handicap match. I'm a big Punk fan, but he's like Undertaker compared to Bryan atm who's like (name your random midcarder). Shield are rumored to be heading for a break up, but the match didn't really play into that.
Re: The Wrestling thread
oh boy here we go, is there a chance tonight the logical thing happens?
Re: The Wrestling thread
Bryan and Orton had a really great PPV quality match. It was the best RAW main event since Punk and Cena. The finish was perfect for Orton's character, I don't have a problem with it. Blown opportunity and a waste for HBK to confront Punk. Let's see them fight. And its nice to see AJ didn't have to drop her title to anyone for her jealous "oh, uh-uh, not with my man" blow up on Michelle Beadles.
I still think Cena had a great promo last week and it was genius how he used DB to get the crowd to stop booing, which had a big effect on Orton and even HHH, who totally lost the crowd and were visibly frustrated by it. But now it's clear they're going to continue to use Bryan to help cover Cena's push for the title. I still don't get it. Just push Bryan, he's insanely over. Cena and Orton will never get that much interest from the fans that we saw on RAW. (DB really sold that hurt arm. His scream even made me buy it! )
And what happened with The Wyatt's and The Shield working together for either Vince or Heyman against Punk and DB? That was interesting. So was a Wyatt Vs Shield feud they were teasing.
Re: The Wrestling thread
So looks like unless it's a swerve, that they turned Bryan heel and had him join the Wyatts. Biggest reason I can think off it not being a swerve, is the fact they turned Punk heel last year too when he was the most over person in the company. This has to all, but end the Bryan winning the Rumble and getting the title at Wrestlemania hopes.
There was weird rumours recently that it'd be Cena vs Bray Wyatt at Wrestlemaina in the main event. I guess it makes sense now (using their logic).
This is a company that's completely rejecting their own fans
Re: The Wrestling thread
It's a typical HHH clown ass move. Wasn't it reported that WWE officials were literally begging HHH to give Bryant a title run because of how insanely over he is now? He did it to Punk last year, like you said, made himself the "face" of the company and he's doing it again. Making the over guy a heel is "his" way of not being seen as holding them back, but not exactly pushing them either so he can put "his guy" with the strap. They have never turned Cena heel... That says something.
Roman Reigns is set to either win the RR or be the "beast." Because he has the look and the size Vince and HHH love. (they love big men, heh heh) and what's funny, and I really like Roman, but he's the least talented of The Shield as an in-ring performer. He does have the look, though.
What I look forward to with Batista is that they were so desperate to sign him you know he's got major sway on what he'll do... And he loves and is friends with CM Punk, so I'm looking forward to some great matches.

I'm stealing the image off another site, but oh well. It's that time of year again
Re: The Wrestling thread
For those that don't know Bryan turned in face two weeks later, when they realized their long term plan of having their most over face be put as a side heel character for a few months so people would lose interest wasn't a good idea.
Also Ultimate Warrior's getting a hall of fame induction, despite the fact WWE made a DVD called "The Self Destruction of the Ultimate Warrior" a decade ago where everyone buried him.
