Big fan of the material up to about the mid 70s. I managed to catch Keith Richards at the crossroads show I was at. Too bad I don't really remember him cause we decided LSD was a good idea. Im told I was very excited and into the moment.
The riff on Can't You Hear Knocking is up there on my favorite riffs of all time.

1969-1975 is the pinnacle of the Stones. Some Girls from 1978 is up there as well. Those albums were amazing, but pre 1969 had badass moments too. Beggars Banquet being one of them.

The Last Time one of their earlier tunes has such a killer, bluesy riff.

I read Keith Richards book "Life", I highly recommend. Gives great insight to the band, their inner relationships, even accounts of them hanging with Lennon & Paul. Also sheds some light into songwriting & how it all came about. For instance, he came into the studio with the riff to Wild Horses one day, and Mick just went into the control room as Keith laid down the track. Mick came out with a poem written that was essentially Wild Horses, wrote it in one sitting. Brilliant.
