The Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert [Blu-ray] [2013] September Release
Eagle Vision s new SD Blu-ray range presents upscaled standard definition original material with uncompressed stereo and DTS-HD surround sound for the best possible quality. On April 20th 1992, Roger Taylor, Brian May and John Deacon, the surviving members of Queen, took to the stage at Wembley Stadium for the start of one of the biggest events in rock history, which the band had organised to pay tribute to their former colleague the incomparable Freddie Mercury. Queen were joined by some of the greatest musical talent in the world to celebrate Freddie s life and work and to increase public awareness of AIDS, the disease that had prematurely ended his life the previous year. As well as being great entertainment, the concert raised a huge and still growing sum of money for the Mercury Phoenix Trust, a charity formed at the time whose charter is the relief of suffering from AIDS throughout the world. Now for the first time both halves of the concert are being made available on SD-Blu-ray along with additional bonus material in this special edition release.

Very excited to get this soon! Epic performances from everyone around. Axl & Elton John was so badass. Robert Plant doing Crazy was legendary! ..and so much more! Freddie was truly smiling from above!

That Freddie tribute bluray looks great. I've got that show on DVD, but it doesn't feature the bands individual performances, only the main set with the Queen guys.
It'll be great to have the full sets from Metallica, and GN'R from the day in great quality audio and video!
I wonder how extensive the rehearsal footage is too?
Like Gibbo said, I agree it's probably one of the best live performances from the UYI tour lineup.
That whole night was magic, and yeah, I'm sure Freddie was smiling from above too.
I wonder if Axl had to give the ok to release that footage?

Axl didn't own that footage.
Really? Wouldn't any performance footage of the old band have to be signed off by them for any sort of commercial release?

The event owns it. Just like the HOF and HBO... HBO owned that, not Axl. I could be wrong though.

Maybe they signed off on it in 92 and they're only just using it all now? Might not have needed Axls permission again in 2013.
