Re: Bon Jovi Discussion
TMZ compared them to the Stones, now this:
” Why did Jon Bon Jovi do a Bon Jovi tour without Richie Sambora, his co-writer and mate of 30 years?
Because he’s as stubborn and egomaniacal as Guns N’ Roses’ Axl Rose? Because the show must go on? Because the band grosses $2 million a night? Or ’cause it’s called the Because We Can Tour?”

I wish it was for better reasons, but it's nice to see BJ compared to the greats.
Re: Bon Jovi Discussion
I'm disc 3 into the box set right now. I was gifted it when it came out years ago, but didn't think much of it. (It was during a sick of Bon Jovi period, didn't even give it a full listen.) I'm fucking loving it now though.
Russ - you might dig this dude. Most of these tracks must have been from the Pre-Bounce era, because they've got that feel to them.

Re: Bon Jovi Discussion
I've been listening to Lost Highway a lot lately. I still think it's a bit too country for my tastes, but there's some good songs on there.
Whole Lot Of Leavin' has a great groove, as does Any Other Day. (You Want To) Make A Memory is a really good ballad too.

And, We've Got It Goin' On, is a hell of an anthem. I like that album, and I'm not a country fan either. But it's so subtle that I barely distinguish it from BJ's usual blues based sound.
Re: Bon Jovi Discussion
Disc one could be a lot of bands greatest hits
Lol, and the rest of them could easily be a stand alone studio album. I can't believe I overlooked these for so long.
I guess a part of me dismissed it as rarities that weren't good enough for the albums, and I never gave it a proper listen until recently.
Re: Bon Jovi Discussion
Just picked this up from Eddie Trunk's twitter. More news on the Sambora situation, along with a dope slap aimed at Bieber:
---------------------------------
Radar Online reports:
Jon Bon Jovi is pretty frustrated with longtime band member Richie Sambora’s departure from Bon Jovi – but he isn’t afraid of outing his issues or saying that he is replaceable.
The 51-year-old rock star recently opened up about Sambora’s shocking departure from the legendary band, hinting that it had to do with substance abuse problems.
“It’s getting more and more difficult every day to not just sit here and say something… Because all I can say is this — it’s for personal reasons,” Jon explained to the London Evening Standard about Sambora, who went to rehab in 2011 for alcohol abuse. “He’s been through it before, fortunately for us the same guy who filled in last time was available this time.”
He continued to snub Sambora by comparing him to U2’s The Edge, who would not be so easy to substitute.
“Life goes on, so if someone chooses not to be here… unlike if this were, God forbid, The Edge, and he for some reason couldn’t make a U2 show, [then] it would be very difficult to just step in,” he said.
“You have a choice — you either figure it out, go and grow, not only survive but thrive. Or, you say, ‘I hate my brother and I’m gonna quit the band.’”
Also, in the interview, Bon Jovi slammed Justin Bieber, dubbing him “an a**hole” for showing up to his O2 arena concert in March 2013 two hours late.

Re: Bon Jovi Discussion
That's what I was getting at when I said the rumors of Yoko Bonjiovi were true. The rumor has been that Richie is still partying hard, and that Jon's wife is pushing this to be a 'dry' tour because of what happened with their daughter last year. She almost OD'd.
