What a bummer. Hope everything's ok with him. Gotta say, Jon's a GREAT general though. He makes tough decisions keeping the fans and the employees in mind. I never appreciated as a kid just how much this was his band with everyone else along for the ride.

On the Jovi Sirius channel yesterday, there was a quick interview with Richie leading into playing Runaway, where he said that it wasn't really til Slippery When Wet that he thinks Jon started thinking more of the band dynamic. Before then, the band was pretty sure he was leaning towards being a solo artist with a backing band. Really interesting insight.

I hope so too, and hopefully before something terrible happens like losing his daughter, health, or getting kicked out of the band.  But on the bright side, continued struggles with his demons may lead to another awesome solo album.

That IS interesting, and it makes me wonder, if Richie doesn't get his shit together, do they go on as Bon Jovi without him, or is Jon just a solo artist from that point on.  Jon and Richie are the song writers for Bon Jovi, so without Richie, and even with the rest of the guys as a backing band, it really is just Jon.

(I loves me some run on sentences)

I never knew that. As huge a fan as I was (and am again), I never really understood the band dynamic til I watched When We Were Beautiful. Totally agreed on Richie, though. I wouldn't want any of them to leave tbh. I still can't believe Alec could ever have fucked up enough to get kicked of that train.

Is there a good biography on the band that you'd recommend? I suppose even just Jon would be good too.
