The Minnesota Vikings

QB: An efficient Christian Ponder that isn't going to turn the ball over
RB: One of the best 1-2 combos in the NFL with AP and Gerhart
WR: The most versatile WR in the NFL in Percy Harvin,  along with a deep threat now in Jerome Simpson
TE: Kyle Rudolph has potential to become a top 5 tight end in the NFL
Offensive Line: nothing special but gets the job done
Defensive Line: One of the best run defenses in the NFL, have stopped the likes of MJD, Frank Gore, and Chris Johnson
Secondary: has impressed many, including myself, and includes a lot of young talent and has stopped players like Megatron and offenses like the 49ers
Kicker- proven clutch and won our 1st game for us

The o line has been dominate, especially on running plays. definitely a better than average group.

a lot of people are expecting them to come down to reality but over half the lineup are either rookies or second year players. they are not over acheiving, they are improving and maturing every week. that's what's scary.

the QB play and defense (players and coaches) will dictate if they sustain this pace.

at some point every season someone finds a weakness in an opponent and everyone else then copies it. assuming someone figures out how to put up more points against this defense early in the gmae the offense might sputter. that's when we find out if the D and Coaches and Ponder can respond.

communist - aside form a few players, this team is completely different than '09 but i will say this:

take away qb play and it seems like a similar team with a conservative offense, great running game, great special teams, great defense

sidney rice made an occasional big play in '08 for tavaris jackson
jerome simpson makes an occasional big play this year for ponder

Favre came in in '09, supercharged the offense, and made rice a superstar and im sure hed do the same for this offense and jerome simpson.

difference is harvin has matured into a beast and ponder is much better than tavaris and this dink and dunk system is actually a good thing for teams can't yet stop it.

I just like that nobody is respecting the Falcons. D is an issue but offense will not be with Julio, Roddy, Matty Ice, Gonzalez, and Turner. That is a very solid core of offensive skill positions. Don't tell Bono, but it sort of reminds me of the 91-95 Cowboys.

I think the only thing people worry about with the Falcons is their recent playoff performances.  They've had good regular seasons the last few years, but have come up very small in the playoffs.  Maybe it'll be different this year, that remains to be seen.  It looks like Ryan has taken that next step, so that's certainly a good sign.  Their passing game is the obvious strength.  Running game isn't dominant, nor is their defense, yet both are solid.

Tough break for Houston, the other undefeated team in the NFL, losing Cushing for the year.  They had serious injury issues to deal with last season and still almost made it to the Super Bowl.  They'll be tested again it seems.

You keep getting to the playoffs and at some point you are going to turn the corner...ask Peyton Manning. Ryan is still very young.

Yeah things are looking good for the Falcons. Anything less than a conference championship game would be a disappointment IMO

The Titans actually looked like an actual football team the other day and beat the Steelers.  The days of the Steelers being a top defense (at least this year) are pretty much over.  They can't really defend the pass and they gave up close to 100 yards to Chris Johnson.

Titans finally held a team to under 30 points this week.  They play the Bills next week in Toronto (I think).  Bet the over.  Two crappiest defenses in the league go head to head.  Oh and start Scott Chandler if you have him.

I think the Steelers still have the talent to be a decent team with a good defense.  They're just old and can't stay healthy, so that presents a problem.  I'd say their running game and offensive line aren't what they used to be.  That's a larger issue for them, again injuries have played a role there as well.

Cardinals refused to let the Bills lose today, and the AFC East has a ridiculous 4-way tie because of it. Seahawks beating Patriots was pretty exciting!
