I clicked the link on my work computer, then closed it when it appeared to link to a foreign site.  I hope I don't get fired over it...

uhm, are you serious, or am I missing the joke here? Half of the internet is "foreign", why would you get fired for visiting a "foreign" site?

Quite, and not because it's foreign...because I have no idea what is actually on that site.

Nothing to worry about...just video of Axl doing shots...oh and some snuff-child-clown-porn mixed in with their other celebrity footage...but there's no english keywords...so should be safe enough.

Let's jump-start the board then, eh?

This place is like Seinfeld -- you have a bunch of good characters and the story writes itself

I particularly loved the Clockwork Orange re-enactment with a clown nose and Thai pool boy.

They've been on the road four years. FOUR YEARS.

The only mind blowing thing about that fact is they have nothing to show for it. Not even ONE song.  Anyone who doesn't believe GNR quickly morphed into nothing but a nostalgia act needs to look at that statistic.

In half that time frame, Soundgarden released a greatest hits set including live songs and a new song, a live album, a new song for a soundtrack, and recorded a new album in between a tour AND a Cornell solo tour.

They simply have no desire to move forward in any capacity. The well that contained a million excuses is bone dry.

Question: I don't go to any other GNR sites anymore. Are there still people in such denial that they attempt to rationalize the situation with bat shit insane excuses?

So what does it give you then, being here.

I come here because I like the people who post here. GNR is the last reason I come here. They do nothing that interests me. New music would possibly change my stance.

On all GNR sites I would assume that checking out the GNR section is more of a habit than genuine interest or expectation of actual news. When you log in to this site or another one, do you seriously expect that a major announcement may have occurred?

The whole situation is so weird really.

We spend so much time on the Axl vs Slash front that it's easy to forget that they're both very talented in their own right.

Axl's contributions to the original albums were amazing, which makes it extra strange that in the following 15 years, with truck loads of money and some of the greatest musicians in the world to help him, and dozens of managers and so on...that he's only commercially released one album.

What's also interesting is the productivity in their youth. When you look at it, compared to now, the period of time in which the band made AFD, Lies, UYI1, UYI2, TSI and ran some of the most extensive tours ever....and all that while having a guy in the band who sometimes DIED before a show...two or three other serious substance abusers around....and a person who was prone to incidents of arrest and violence etc.....and despite all that they made so much.

Aside from blame it becomes curious to me to understand the reasons. Is it that the pressure and fear was simply too much? Is it that however Axl's brain is programmed for analysis makes him great at music but fundamentally problematic at running what is the equivalent of a large multinational corporation?

Contrasted with other people Cornell doing audioslave, even Slash's post GNR career, or pretty much other artists, it's really a very very strange situation.

I must say...I thought he must gave gone through hell to get out CD1...but then I was expecting a decently handled release, and probably the the normal model of a follow up after a few years (especially seeing as we're told from numerous sources it's basically already in the can)....that things worked out how they have is really so so odd.

The worst part in my opinion, is that we may never hear Axl's unabridged side of the story. I wish he'd put out a book, but what if he did and it was just a recounting of the many ways in which he'd been screwed over from his POV? That would be something, but would still kind of blow.
