No, I think they'd choose the RRHOF route. Axl will suggest that it's too corporate and will mention 3 people who don't have a star there and will add that Slash only wrote a couple of key riffs and Tracii Guns was there before him. I could totally see that. Axl down playing it as some corporate sell out.

Yeah I'm not gonna look it up BUT not just anyone can get one. Not like if I went trhough all the red tape and jumped through all the right hoops they'd give me one. There has to be some merrit to it. I have no doubt that if Axl wanted one he cold pulla few strings and get one. Just saying I'm not gonna condone Slash for having one regardless of how celebrities go about getting them. I liked walking that street and seeing the names on the stars.

Yeah, I'm sure there's some sort of criteria you have to meet. Maybe a nomination or something to see if people might be interested. In the end, this gets knocked because people have to pay for their star. So in that sense, it can look a bit cheesy. But take nothing away from Slash. He is deserving.

you dont "PAY" to have a star. You "PAY" for the star's construction.
Im sure it can be expensive and they aren't gonna use tax dollars for it.
It's the same thing in theory. You have to pay to have a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, one way or another.

Fuck it if I could have a star on the walk of fame I'd save up and buy one. Thing is they'd never give me one cause I haven't earned it. So there's two ways to look at it. 1. A celebrity is a sell out and they pay to have their star on the walk of fame or 2. they earn it and then help with the production costs

I don't think they're sellouts, but some people feel that way. Option 2 sounds much more fair.

I actually was semi-involved with an organization that got a star on the Walk of Fame for a late actor.
And after knowing the in's and out's of how it's done over the years....
You are pretty much PAYING to have the star, as long as you have a background in entertainment.
So the people arguing the semantics over it, are wasting their breath. The Walk of Fame is a tourist attraction, and although it's can be "symbolic" for some, the bottom line anyone in the business could buy one. A board still has to approve it, but it's rare they deny anyone that has the $15,000 retainer (if I remember correctly).
