Re: This is who I vote for in VR... FUCK ME, would be killer
Fergie doesn't write music. None of the guys in VR have proved themselves to be great songs writers/lyricists. They need someone who can. Scott still hasn't really written anything good since STP's hey day.
I really wish it could have worked out with Royston Langdon. Now that would've been ballsy. And left like, 90% of old line up fans PISSED.
VR would have been much more Bowie-esque, like a harder Ziggy Stardust era. I think it could have been fantastic.
Only if you're a Bowie fan. Weiland basically comes from that school.... and we already got that. It was mediocre.
Bottom line is that VR needed someone like Chris Cornell. Big hard rock voice, but with a grunge sensibility. It's the only thing that would've given it any kind of street cred as a hard rock band that was not glam but more serious, it's own beast, but also been that "GN'R without Axl" banner alot of people tagged it with early on.
Could you imagine what it would've been like with Slash & Dave's blues heart as artists, but with Cornell's voice and writing ability and all around leadership to bring it together? It would've been like a modern day fuckin' Zeppelin. THAT is what they needed. Not Bowie.

It would sound pretty fucking sweet! I can visualize Matt pounding on some cymbals on a Spoon Man like song with Slash's pounding riffs and such.

The Rage Against The Machine guys definitely got lucky by getting Cornell for Audioslave, and were also a great band.
But could you imagine stuff like Slash's recent Standing In The Sun, with Chris Cornell on top, along with Duff & Matt providing the rhythm!

Fuck all that shit about Fergie. How is it that this girl(Lizzy Hale) has never been mentioned in the discussion of a new VR singer at all and how is it possible I only heard of her and her band last night. Check this shit out. She starts singing at 1:45. Her range is nuts! This is LIVE. Unreal.

I honestly think her with Velvet Revolver would kick so much ass. They would be so fucking popular compared to VR with Weiland.
Here's what she'd bring

I'm very sexist when it comes to hard rock singers.
My theory is epic high notes are hard when you are a dude, and less impressive as a girl. Also, all the balls and rasp in your voice as a girl doesn't really make you tough...you're still so cute....and it's testiment to how hard these Axl/Baz songs are that you have to be a chick to nail it these days....
That said...I'll grant that girl is damn good....would be very interesting to see what she did with the VR guys...although they might not be metal enough for her maybe
I'm probably alone in this...but I think Appocalyptic Love demonstrates myles should have been the singer....he's been a foil for some of slash's best solos and riffs in years, he's handled the endless touring and all the back catalogue with class, he's got a versititle range and sound, and we now know he writes beautiful melodies and lyrics.
Basicly...Duff and Matt should be in Slash's current band.
