This

Myles sucks. I mean he literally ruins every single one of Slash's new songs. It pisses me off so badly, because I wanted to hear and like this record. I really did. Slash's guitar work is amazing (Anatasia, sweet God), and it is virtually dumbed down in to average because Myles and his vocal melodies are fuckin' horrendous.

The irony of it all?

He's still not the worst vocalist Slash has ever worked with on a full time basis.

I don't buy it. Eric Dover sucked, Rod Jackson sucked, Scott Weiland sucked, all the Slash I contributors sucked and now Myles sucks... I see a pattern here. Some people just can't enjoy Slash's work outside of GN'R, since it's not Axl's singin'. I agree that the Axl/Slash combo is one of the best pairings ever, but stating that Slash's work is unlistenable because of the poor vocal performances just doesn't hold water.
I'm still waiting for my Classic Rock Fan Pack, but Myles was mediocre to great in the songs I've listened so far. Doesn't ruin the album at all.

I'll state it.  I don't listen to most of his work other than VR (I actually like Scott's singing, but his writing isn't really my style) and I love Slash probably as much as anybody here.  I don't even focus on the vocals and I can't listen to it...I can only imagine how normal people that actually focus on the vocals feel about it.

Myles is a very good singer.  He hits all the right notes and I've always given him kudos for that.  I can't stand the nasal tone he usually sings with.  Can't stand it...it's like nails on a chalkboard.  When he doesn't sing that way, he's great, but those times are too few and far between.

I equate Myles' nasal singing to Robin's guitar playing.  They both are fine in the right place, but that place isn't where they were being used.  I actually think Robin does a fine job in NIN...I think his style fits there so much better than GnR.  If Myles would sing less nasaly (is that a word?), I think I would enjoy listening to him so much more.

As it is, I'm hoping instrumental leaks show up from both Slash's solo albums.  If anyone happens to have them, please send them my way...
