watch it Monkey.....

Figured you guys might like that remark....I think it's true though...if I'm allowed a small clarification:

The Anastasia outro is epic the way the nighttrain solo would be if Axl and Slash re-recorded it now with modern techniques and slash's current shred skill. But the AFD version is genius..but it's also a young drunken slash into a fade out. It's impressive the way the Double Talking Jive outro is live...but then when you get used to the tokyo dvd version then listen to the studio cut and it's the same thing without the live inspiration slash had and with a fade way way too early....

Don't get me wrong, not bashing those solos, they're two of the all time great moments, but it's got to the point now with slash I think where he's gone back to his GNR style, and he's almost doing it more GNR like that he ever did in some ways....and I think Anastasia is a prime example of that.....

Just need Axl in the band now wink

Regarding the first listen thing.

I use leaks to ease myself into it too.

Like i can't digest 15 songs at once.

So I spent a good week or two blasting the first 7 or so we had till I was used to them...so then the album purchase was an upgrade of those to lossless audio and a fresh 7 songs to digest.

The Anastasia outro is money.. For DAYS...

Not For Me IS for me... God damn... It's shit like this record that makes me sad that Axl will NEVER give Slash the time of day again...

I'm weird, in that I will generally dissect every guitar solo from someone like Zakk Wylde, or EVH... but with Slash, and Dimebag, for some weird reason, I don't. They're "feel" guys..

The solo doesn't necessarily need to be technically brilliant... It just needs to compliment the song overall..

The Top Hatted One delivers on EVERY TRACK of this album, in that regard. And, I will agree that he is playing some of the best fiddle of his fucking LIFE, lately.... It's too bad Uncle Axl would rather finger bang DJ Ashba these days, when he could be getting his socks blown off by the belle of the (blues) ball...:haha::slash:

Used to Richie Sambora till Jon neutered him.:headbang:

First listen through and I am loving it. the guitar kicks fucking ass.

Def recorded/mixed a bit different from his last album.

Standing in the Sun and No More Heroes are the shit.

Far and Away is pretty damn nice. He has some nice jazzy moments in the solo. Myles sounds good here.

Two days in and this album is fucking GREAT

Each song gets better than the last..Only songs I'm not in love with are Hard and Fast and Crazy Life

that fucking Carolina song is amazing. that talk box riff is excellent.

Great songs so far: Standing in the Sun, No More Heroes, Halo, You're A Lie, We Will roam, Anastasia, Not for Me, Far And Away and Shots fired.
