Re: Updates: Orlando, FL (Amway Center 10-28-11)
I think we're all coloured by our emotional response somewhat.
I tend to forgive Axl a lot of the drama because songs like Madagascar really hit the spot in my brain. Likewise a fair assessment of life would probably indicate slash speaks a bit of shit sometimes...but then I love his albums so I let it go.
And likewise I think Buzz tends to be pessemistic about stuff like the prospects of a follow up album being interesting to a record label because fundementally he just doesn't like Axl's post 1993 work (twat excepted maybe).
Re: Updates: Orlando, FL (Amway Center 10-28-11)
Right, you read people for a living and you just labeled me an ass on those grounds?
You're not trying to have a discussion.
I'm more than willing to have a discussion with you; you're interested in trying to turn my thoughts on someones reaction to a concert to every single thing in life. If you don't get the difference between an experience and everyday life, we can't have a discussion on the issue.

You said I was out of the discussion at one point, despite giving no indication in our prior correspondence that I had offended you in any fashion. After that, you began to taunt me. Not the most constructive way to show me the err of my ways.
I guess that's just it. It's not what I've been bitching about. I don't care about any of the rest of this. I know you guys think I bitch about everything, but at the end of the day, all of my complaints boil down to two things: he's not releasing music I consider to be good, and he's not getting back together with the guys that inspired him to release good music.
That's it. I don't care if he does interviews. I don't really care if he tours. All these things that all of you seem to care about don't really mean anything to me.
So you pass time discussing things you don't care about, like how much a tour would sell or how good the show was?
It all relates back to what I do care about.
Does that count as an emotional reaction?
If a bear shits in the wood and nobody is around to hear it, does it make a noise?
(To note: I took your above post as a facetious remark in the given context. Made me smile, even.)
Would you therefore say your opinions on things you don't care about, like how well a tour would sell and how good the show was, are colored by an emotional reaction, which boils down to Axl not releasing music you consider to be good, and him not getting back together with the guys that you feel inspired him to release good music?
You never answered my last question. I respect the opinion you laid out in your initial post - you feel the new music isn't good enough and a reunion would be needed to restore Axl's creative force. That's completely fine with me.
How do those issues relate to a concert or a tour - which you say you don't care about in the first place? Axl can tour with whomever he wants, and the reception of those shows, as well as the overall sales of those shows, do little to affect your opinion on his new music, or what you perceive as the ultimate recording lineup, correct?
For someone who claims he doesn't care whether Axl tours or not and how well it goes, you debate a whole lot on the subject. If I ask you again, in plain words, would you consider yourself prejudiced towards the live band / performance due to your opinions regarding the absence of the original members / overall quality of CD songs?

You're trying to bait me and it isn't going to happen. I tried deflecting you with humor, then subtile statements so we didn't have to have a confrontation on the issue. It isn't going to happen.

This thread is an abomination. A long time member is being crucified for enjoying a show. REALLY? Where's the shame?
A low point for Evo. If it continues, will be restricting access to sections for certain people who desire to rain on parades.

Agreed. Damn shame. And I say that as someone who doesn't have an interest in watching Axl's tribute band perform. Axlin08 is a good dude who has been plenty critical of Axl over the years. He is far from being a biased nutswinger. But he does make a good point about simply enjoying Axl's voice while it's still in listenable condition. There will come a time when it won't be. Who knows when that will be. I suppose one of the positives about Axl wasting 15 years of his prime is that his voice wasn't really used much during that time, so it is still in decent shape even at an old age. Considering the type of singer he is, that is a very rare thing. Look at Plant. That guy's voice was shot by age 40.
Re: Updates: Orlando, FL (Amway Center 10-28-11)
Dont pull out the censorship card. Its not about censoring its about keeping things at a certain level of class & great reviews & updates getting slammed just for shits and giggles is unacceptable.
Evo is near carte blanche but lines are being crossed.
