Re: Azoff-Axl Lawsuit Settled: Includes "comprehensive touring agreement"
He's already hated by many (granted, loved by just as many).
But pissing in the faces of every GN'R fan, past, present, and future by a move like that, and by his own admission putting Slash over even more with his own audience, and making himself look even more like a dick.
Yeah, I think he'd become exactly what I said. "A heel on the level of Casey Anthony".
He'd be universally hated in his own fanbase, rock music alike, and by every label & promoter in the business, as well as the RNRHOF.
It'd be the dick move in rock history, and it would perminately stain the legacy of GN'R.
The media would run fuckin' wild to bury him once and for all. He's already Barry Bonds-level heel... only two more places to go - Casey, then Hitler.
I'll just be happy if "Gnr" gets in....honestly, that is it.
Re: Azoff-Axl Lawsuit Settled: Includes "comprehensive touring agreement"
Me too, and honestly their induction isn't contingent on ANY of them attending. ANY of them.
My original theory was if Axl was there and refused to interact with the old guys, or possibly didn't attend and then turned around and sued or made a stink about Slash associating himself with Guns N' Roses, or some "Tracii Guns was there before Slash" bullshit, whatever Axl cooks up in his head, would be the moment that dislike or misunderstanding would turn to pure vile hatred.

Slash, Izzy and the guys could just get a guest singer in, if it's a one-shot thing. Sebastian Bach, or Chester Bennington, or even - Christ, I hope not - Myles Kennedy.
Or Axl might show up. I think for all the posturing, we've come very close to a reunion on several occasions. They still have to keep in touch, for legal matters as much as anything else. And the HOF will stall until they've sorted out their issues; they really don't want a GN'R clusterfuck happening.

I don't think Baz would do that because of his friendship with Axl..but maybe one of the others.

Even if they want to reunite, I still don't see why they'd reunite there though. It would get press I guess. But from a financial perspective it wastes the first time they've played together to someone elses gig. If feeling friendly why not do a one-off gig yourself for millions and millions of bucks.
Re: Azoff-Axl Lawsuit Settled: Includes "comprehensive touring agreement"
It'd be far cooler if they made a surprise appearence and did like a Ritz show, but in 2012.
That'd be so fuckin' cool. Just like the original five, and Dizzy on bongos/tambourine.
Don't tell a soul, just come on late night and do it AFD-style... THEN do the HOF show.

Even if they don't play a note just get together again for 15 minutes, it'll be enough for me. Just end this hate game, please, and we'll see how it goes from there.

Re: Azoff-Axl Lawsuit Settled: Includes "comprehensive touring agreement"
I'm just saying...the press has previously quoted Steven Adler as saying that Axl turned down an offer of $150 Million dollars to play 20 reunion shows.
This to me says it's obviously not about money to them. However, that said, assuming he did patch up the relationship enough to want to play with the old guys (which in and off itself seems like a pipe dream)....
Well then...the question to me is.
If you want to play together for the sake of history, even if you arn't motivated by the money to cause the reunion, if the choice is do it for free at someone elses function or hold it yourself and make hundreds of millions of dollars.....it would seem odd to give that financial reward and the attention to a third party like the HOF.
I would never get back with an Ex for money. But if I wanted to get back with an ex anyway, and I had the choice of doing it for free or for millions of bucks I know which I'd choose!
That said, I totally understand where you guys are coming from. It's quite sad that what started as one of the greatest musical partnerships of all time devolved into all this hate and the divisions in the fan base and everything else.
But lets not ask for retirement just yet I'd like to see Axl record with DJ abd Bumble...and I'm looking forward to the Slash/Myles album too.
I love the past - greatest band ever - but at this point I feel like it's upwards and onwards for everyone to do well at their own things.
