Re: Azoff-Axl Lawsuit Settled: Includes "comprehensive touring agreement"
Unfortunately Axl is on a hiding to nothing come HOF time. If he doesn't show or refuses to play or interact with the original guys then that just makes him look like a cockhead (or confirms that status for those who already think he is one).
On the other hand if he does get up with the old guys in some capacity then how can it not have some type of negative impact for NuGNR and his plans there (if any), and their legitimacy.
It'd be career suicide. He'd come across as such an epic heel, he'd reach Casey Anthony territory.
The media would run wild with it, and even Axl wouldn't be able to push himself on that level anymore. He'd be done, by his own submission.
There's just things YOU DON'T DO, under ANY circumstances. This is one of them.
Even for a hardcore fan like myself, it would totally destroy my image of Axl forever.
We'll see. I honestly don't see how they wouldn't get in on the first try. We'll have to see what develops in the coming year. If I were Axl, I'd agree to show up and accept with the original line up at least.
It's the performing that's the hard part to figure out. Maybe just have a couple members of whatever lineups of GNR to perform with other people throughout the night?
That would never ever happen. So the RNRHOF audience is gonna cheer for the new band, while the old band sits? Even if they know the old band is gonna play later?
And even still, it'd destroy new Guns. No one would care after seeing the old band. No one, even the geeks.
The only way the RNRHOF works, is if Axl is still pushing the new Guns, he can convince the old band in some way to refuse to participate in the event, and Axl and the new Guns also no shows it, and then puts themselves over like The Sex Pistols did by saying "piss on those wankers".
OR
Axl washes the new band out, and reunites at the show and performs and the band embarks on either a reunion tour, and plays select shows together ala Floyd/Zeppelin with the forseen future.
It'd make more sense for Axl to just accept it, make peace with, reunite, and try to drop the vault in a box set or something like KISS did with "Carnival of Souls: The Final Sessions", not promote it, and immediately move on to a reunion tour with the old guys.
It'd make Axl's life happier, richers, and less complicated to just reunite in that ordeal.
However... we all know Axl NEVER does that stuff I just listed above. He'll fuck himself somehow. If he doesn't, I wouldn't be proud, i'd be amazed.

As I see it, getting Axl N' Slash together in the same room is equally hard as getting them together on stage.
My prediction is that no GN'R will perform and Axl won't even show up. He'll remain silent or swipe another venomous attack in the context of a Del James 'interview'. Maybe he could sue RRHOF for the misuse of the image of Slash, Duff, Izzy and Steven, as their effort trying to deceive the public and ruin all the efforts Axl made in the past 15 years regarding the Guns N' Roses image.

I was just watching the Allman Brothers induction on youtube today...note how only the original band members were inducted.

and for the record..The Allman Brothers Band original lineup..the best American band of all time.

Really man? Casey Anthony? C'mon dude. Not reuniting with old bandmates vs. being accused of murdering your own child? Yeah, just a wee bit different

He's already hated by many (granted, loved by just as many).
But pissing in the faces of every GN'R fan, past, present, and future by a move like that, and by his own admission putting Slash over even more with his own audience, and making himself look even more like a dick.
Yeah, I think he'd become exactly what I said. "A heel on the level of Casey Anthony".
He'd be universally hated in his own fanbase, rock music alike, and by every label & promoter in the business, as well as the RNRHOF.
It'd be the dick move in rock history, and it would perminately stain the legacy of GN'R.
The media would run fuckin' wild to bury him once and for all. He's already Barry Bonds-level heel... only two more places to go - Casey, then Hitler.
