Re: Azoff-Axl Lawsuit Settled: Includes "comprehensive touring agreement"
Saw this on twitter. Nothing definitive, obviously, but going along with the theory that a US tour is at least being considered/worked on.

Possible U.S. dates?: Heard this the other day on WCCC in Connecticut. http://bit.ly/kcDmN9 #GunsNRosesThe discussion is kind of lengthy, the GNR part comes about 3/4 of the way through. Basically the concert promoter says he does believe GNR will play somewhere in Connecticut by the end of the year. And they discuss playing either the Mohegan Sun Arena, which seats around 10,000 or the Comcast Theater which seats around 6,000.
Didn't listen to it, but going by your post, that's a good sign right?
I mean, often the first hints of an upcoming tour leaks out from promoters "running their mouths"...
Hope it happens for you guys in the US (well, for those of you actually wanting to see it happen), it's well overdue!
Re: Azoff-Axl Lawsuit Settled: Includes "comprehensive touring agreement"
I would say it's a good sign. Pretty much confirms what we've all thought for some time now, that they're TRYING to get a US tour in the works. Now that doesn't mean it will definitely happen, but it's better than hearing there's no talk of GNR touring the US for sure. They skipped CT last time around and I had to go see them at MSG. I'm not complaining, as that was an awesome time, but it'd be nice to see them in my home state once again.
I will say though, I really don't see them touring the US by the end of THIS YEAR. I mean I guess it's entirely possible, but there haven't been any real indications to this point. Maybe this is the start of it though. Hopefully.

Theaters are the only realistic way to go. Time for Uncle Axl to get his ego in check.

Yeah, just to clarify. The promoter was speaking about what he thought would be the best venue for GNR to play at this point. He originally said that the Mohegan Sun Arena would be the best setting, but then the DJ asked if they could play the outdoor ampitheater IF they were to tour in the summer. That reminded the promoter of the indoor theater that he then said would be even better for them.
I don't know exactly how these things work, as in who chooses where the band plays and what not. If the promoter thinks a theater that seats 5,000 works best, but the band and their management think they could still play larger arenas, who wins out?

Axl did say in a previous interview/chat that he didn't mind smaller venues, as long as it worked scheduling wise for the band.
Considering that he's played various club shows in 2006 & 2010... he's probably open to the idea.
