Messages could have helped Libertad out a HUGE amount.
If I was managing VR I would have released it as the opening single with a beautiful & heartfelt homage to the 9/11 heroes and victims with all proceeds to going charity.
I think the single and consequently the album would have been straight to No. 1 and would have created enough momentum to give 'The Last Fight' and maybe 'Gravedancer' a real chance at success.
Then we may still have a band to talk about or maybe Axl would have taken his old band back as he would heve realised that the magic lay with them.

Obviously, things don't line up perfectly, but this mix is AWESOME. It's amazing to just sit back and imagine these guys playing together again. I miss them so much. Messages to Madagascar in particular really gets me going.
