Reagon was a great president? are you kidding me?

Reagon was a firm supporter of the massively rich in this country. Reagonomics or "trickle down effect" as he called it, was a theory that was based on the rich in this country receiving the most tax breaks (in terms of raw numbers, not percentage). In other words, the rich got a lot richer in the 1980s, and any time the federal government needed money, it borrowed it to make up the difference. Reagon left office with the single largest deficiet in government spending in the history of American presidents.

He cannot be given credit for the soviet meltdown. He didn't understand anything. He was a god damn actor. Maybe Arnold should be our next president.

Reagan is one of the greatest presidents in history. You can yell "trickle down" all you want, but its not gonna change a thing.

Those deficits were necessary to bankrupt the Soviet Union.

Look at the mid-late 70's, and then fast forward to the late 80's. Reagan presided over one of the biggest economic booms this country has ever had.

Reagan didn't know a damn thing about the Soviets?? Then why did he demand to be alone during talks with Gorbachev? Other presidents have advisers up their asses when talking to world leaders. Reagan negotiated without anyone helping him.

The dollar peaked on Reagan's watch. Its been dropping ever since.

He got gas prices under control right when he took office, and they stayed the same during his presidency. They started to rise the moment he left office.

I could go on and on, but I think the parts of his resume I just posted are enough.

Manchester, N.H. -- A panicked and cash-short Clinton campaign is seriously considering giving up on the Nevada caucuses and on the South Carolina primary in order to regroup and to save resources for the massive 19-state mega-primary on February 5.

At the same time, some top independent expenditure groups supporting Clinton have been exploring the creation of an anti-Obama "527 committee" that would take unlimited contributions from a few of Clinton's super-rich backers and from a handful of unions to finance television ads and direct mail designed to tarnish the Illinois Senator's image.

The Clinton campaign has raised over $100 million, but has "only" $15 to $20 million left. It faces donor reluctance to give more in the face of the Iowa defeat and the prospect of a second loss in New Hampshire today. Even worse, the campaign fears defections among those fundraisers who want to be with a winner and who might be easily persuaded to support Barack Obama.

While the amount of money Clinton has would seem to be more than enough by past standards, the cost of competing in the February 5 states -- including New York, California, Georgia, New Jersey, Minnesota, Colorado, Tennessee, Massachusetts and Arizona - is unprecedented in the history of American primaries. She will face, in turn, an extremely well-funded Obama campaign, whose cash register right now doesn't stop ringing as donations are coming in over the Internet, by mail and in checks handed over in person.

The decision whether to take on Obama in Nevada and South Carolina will likely be made within the next 12 hours.

If the Clintons are really considering such a strategy, the Hillary campaign is over. You cant abandon states hoping for success later. I don't think they truly realize how big this Obama movement is getting. He is actually getting some republican votes for fucks sake. If they want to beat him, the last thing they should be doing is abandoning states and letting him build even more momentum.

They are saying this is a record turnout for this primary. Thats not good for Hillary. Some of the exit polls are saying people made their choices at the last minute, meaning they likely ditched Hillary and the lower tier candidates and went with the winner(Obama).

I'm gonna predict Obama wins NH by about 15%.

Not sure what to think about the republican side, but its looking like McCain will get this. Will be interesting to see if Huckabee can do any damage in NH.

More exit poll data coming in....

Apparently 62% of independent voters are voting democratic. Thats huge. You can guarantee they aren't voting for Hillary.

This Obama surge is amazing. The country hasn't seen anything like this since Reagan took the country by storm in the 80 election.

Re: New Hampshire Primary

Hilary is leading over Obama so far.. but its very very close.

Looks like McCain won NH.

Yeah, 11% of the votes have been counted, and Hillary has a 2% edge over Obama. This is seriously "last chance saloon" for her, and if she pulls off the upset it will be huge. Its the only chance she has to possibly derail Obama, so maybe her supporters have come out in droves. Going to be interesting to see how this unfolds.

McCain has a 9% advantage over Romney, and it is looking like he will win this easily. I think the big issue on the republican side is Giuliani. If he once again comes in behind Ron Paul, its time for him to realize that he cant be president. While he has abandoned the early states, he is known everywhere, and for a mainstream candidate to keep coming in at the bottom means no one is interested.

Re: New Hampshire Primary

Guiliani really has no business running for president.   And I'm surprised McCain is being taken as seriously as he has.

I really don't see any candidate I am particularly crazy about yet.   I switch between Replublican and Democrat so much that I just registered as an independent when I moved to Nevada.   I'm not sure who I am going to vote for in the caucus next week.   Really, Obama and Hilary should just suck it up and run together.. t hat ticket would be unbeatable.. Hilary being President as she is more experienced and then let Obama run in 8 years.

Only reason McCain is being taken seriously is because the republican candidates are so terrible. If there was an Obama type candidate on that side, he would wipe the floor with McCain.

I don't like any of these candidates that much either, but I will probably be voting for Edwards.

A Hillary/Obama ticket is looking less likely as time goes on. There seems to be bad blood brewing between both sides. I guess they could call a truce like Reagan/Bush did in the 80's, but I doubt it.

I think Edwards or Richardson are the likely VP candidates this early in the game.

Oh I agree Hilary/Obama isn't happening, but it would be unbeatable if it was because of the lack of a solid Republican candidate.

I like Edwards and Richardson better than either Hilary or Obama.. but I know the democratic vote is coming down to Hilary or Obama.. the other guys don't really have a chance and like you said might as well start sucking up for that VP nomination.   I'm probably voting for Hilary.

Fox is reporting Hilary with a 4% lead over Obama with 20% reporting.. this is going to be close.

I'm also predicting Hilary wins in Nevada next weekend.   She's pretty well-liked here in Clark County which is 75% of the state's population.
