Russia won 4-1 so the semi finals look like this
Canada Vs. USA - Fri @ 2pm EST
Russia Vs. Sweden - Fri @ 10am EST
Czechs play Finland today to determine 5th/6th place
other results
Slovakia vs. Switzerland - 5 - 2
Kazakhstan vs. Denmark - 6 - 3
so Denmark and Switzerland bow out for Germany and someone else next year
Slovakia and Kazakhstan play for 7th/8th place today and both remain in the tourney for next year

Czechs, Slovakia and Switzerland won yesterday
so the lower end of the standing looks like this

and as a stated before, both switzerland and denmark have been regulated to Division I, which makes way for Germany and Latvia to enter the championship tourney next year.
the games today and saturday will determine the top 4

ok Russia beat the USA 4-2 (I think this is the 2nd year they ran 4-0 in round robin to lose 2 straight in the medal rounds

and Canada pulled out a sqeaker 3-2 in overtime
so final standings
Canada - Gold Medal (4th Straight

Russia - Bronze Medal
USA - 4th Place

I had a lovely string of 4-letter words when the Swedes tied it with 43 seconds to go. Good thing the guys pulled through. Canada played well in the first 2 periods but Sweden took over in the 3rd. Nice to have 4 in a row though, with a chance for 5 next year in Ottawa. I might make the trip out for a few games next year.

that goal was my fault..i grabbed my daughter and said "watch their gonna win" then the swedes scored 
next year is prolly already sold out
