Not sure if it's in pity for all involved, or for the completely comedic ways of how this management operates.

Here you got Japanese dates promoted on TV as far as I understand, and management cant pull themselves togheter enough to either confirm them or not confirm them.

As they are not uncomfirming them, they are 99% real. They just seem completely incapable of reacting to it. They might get away with this shit in 1987, but not in 2009.

Yes you could...for awhile. News travelled slower.

Well in their defence, Del James has probably been very busy lately, signing autographs.

So I'm sure he'll update the website with tour dates, when he's finished.

Yeah the UK dates were a bit strange because Download were claiming that Download would be the only appearence by GNR in the UK in 06. Obviously that proved to be false. I seem to remember the early Euro dates surfacing first Madrid, Lisbon etc before anything got confirmed then we got the Hammerstein confirmation and things took off from there. So actually this is panning out very similar to 06 in terms of the tour. There were several dates pretty much confirmed by venues before GNR announced anything. You've got to remember at the time GNR didn't have a functioning website either so I can't remember how the 'official' announcement came about, possibly on the newswire?

Good times 16

Gotta credit Ron again, good of him to acknowledge the emails and also lets be honest he's done nothing to quash tour rumours with this message, quite the opposite. He's said all he could without coming out and officially revealing anything (which is basically yes there's a tour, but hold your horses until all the t's are crossed).

I hate to say this, but its becoming more and more likely that the only reason this shit isnt being confirmed is because Axl is acting like a goddamn diva.  I can totally picture it.  The powers that be are kissing his ass, trying to get him to agree to it.  One day he says its on, next day its off.  This is why I avoid this part of our forum like the plague.

Maybe, although I think it's more likely they want a whole leg of a tour to announce at once rather than one date at a time as and when they get booked. It's just the promoters and venues jumping the gun with the announcement.... I hope.

Great message from Ron, we've come to expect nothing less from such a classy guy!

If it's already being promoted on TV etc is seems strange that they haven't confirmed anything yet. The difficult thing is I don't think they can be 100% sure of things until Axl actually turns up at the venue on the night and physically walks on stage.  So I could see why they certainly wouldn't confirm anything at this early stage.

I 100% understand why Ron can't comment further and it's cool that he made a statement at all.

I think it came from facebook/twitter when he said he would be in LA for the next 70 nights or something, which prompted everyone to ask where he was going after that and if it was with GNR.

What is wierd is that managment still doesn't make a statement of some kind. If promoters are doing TV adds for it, you'd expect they have some basis for doing that - like the show is in development - but perhaps its all conditional agreements and not as locked in as it seems.
