You can keep imagining that you're speaking the "truth" as much as you possibly like but in the end you are just trying to be an asshole.
If you think he sucks, fine. But don't bring him up just to bash the shit out of him in every other thread.

In the original post Axl criticized the UYI guitars. I dared to point out that the long-time-in-making CD guitars are far from perfect, too. It was ontopic. I'm sorry if I hurt a Robin fan's feelings.

Interviews with Slash shortly after Izzy left were telling - he dismissed Izzy's style and sound while endorsing Gilbys playing, which was far less collaborative and gave Slash far more of the spotlight essentially
I would take that with a grain of salt. While in the middle of a huge tour, and replacing a key member of the band, I don't think it would have been the time to say "Yeah, sucks Izzy left. He wrote most of AFD. Gilby's a good guitarist & everything, but the shows won't be the same with him in there."
So instead, he prob said something like Izzy was great but Gilby brings his own style, which livens up the songs, or whatever, just to make the fans happy. I could be wrong, but you'd need direct quotes from Slash to prove it to me.

He does suck, and I didn't bring him up. In fact, I encourage you to seek out the last time I brought him up in a thread where I wasn't responding to someone else's post. I know it was a long, long time ago.
There's nothing about calling it like it is that makes me an asshole. You don't have to like it, but the facts speak for themselves. There's a reason he had no writing credits prior to CD and CD was a major disappointment (though that isn't 100% his fault). You can deny it all you want...doesn't change the reality of the situation.

dont have direct quotes as such (might dig around and see if I can find some), but I recall a guitar magazine I had from the time where he pretty much says he hated Izzys scratchy tone or words to that effect. So there was nothing complimentary coming from Slash toward Izzy at the time

yeah bith Axl and Slash ran Izzy down if i remember correctly..but ya know it was a strongest survives mentality at the time and izzy displayed weakness
