Madagascar is really one of those rare exceptions with Axl's tweaking, that I think makes the song come out wonderful.

I really hate it when he does that multi-vocal thing, and then lays it back over each other (KOHD & CD). It really adds nothing, and is almost distracting.

Maddy is one where it just totally works for the song. The ending of the song, with his raspy vocals singing one line, and the high pitched ones singing the next in the background.... very well done, and amazing. Bravo.

Depends how it's done though...he does that quite a lot even on UYI it sounds like to me in places. I think when he adds the high voice to stuff it's really awesome.

Anyway...Maddy is such an inspirational track....i remember when I first heard it...it was like a light in the musical darkness at the time!

Something interesting i've noticed about this album,

Does anyone else notice they hear different things more different times they listen to the album. Like sometimes I'll replay a song and notice something new, but even less obvious than that, just at times sometimes parts will stand out to me, a drum beat, a guitar part, and other times not as much. I don't use drugs or anything, but it's really almost like that, sometimes my ears will focus on a part more. I guess it's because there's so much going  on, and so much richness and depth to the parts and the sounds. It's really quite interesting and enjoyable.

This I love is really growing on me. The only part I loved was the solo, but thanks to the fan remixes I'm really digging the string arrangements. Its a shame the best is under the solo and really can't be appreciated. But its top notch.

I wonder if I would have liked TIL more if I were listening to it on the 1999 version of CD.

"This I love" i think is one of the strongest things axl's ever written..it's so haunting and beautiful. Although I don't listen to it as often as I do the other songs, as it's so intense it can actually upset me at times, so I have to be in the mood for a song like that.
