Re: Steelers' DB GUARANTEES Upset of New England
My boys are gonna win Sunday. Polamalu is back and Pittsburgh has the best Defense in the league. Brady's gotten by by the sking of his teeth the past two games. Their streak is over. My prediction..... PAIN

Let's hope this prediction becomes a reality. We will know soon enough. I don't believe NE will win the Superbowl but today is the last realistic chance at a team ending their perfect season.
A reason Brady can be mentioned in the same breath as Montana is because he elevates the talent around him. The guy won three superbowls with WRs that weren't stars and mainly mediocre RBs. Now he has an all star cast, and look at them. All having the best season of their careers. Moss is about to shatter Rice's TD record set in 87, when Montana made Rice pretty much invincible.
We're seeing what Manning can do without his top WR since entering the league, and he isn't playing at the same level we've seen him play at during his career
I can see your point and I definitely want to make clear that I DO think Brady is a very good quarterback, by all means. I just do not see him as another Montana, Marino, etc. I still think Manning is easily a better QB than Brady as well. I'm not a big Colts fan or even a Manning fan in reality but he is the best I've seen at his position in a long time. The Colts are 10-2 and if you consider what Manning has played with I think it says tons about him.
I would love to see NE and the Colts meet up again in the playoffs and both be healthy. Could be the game of games!
u forgot babe ruth
No doubt, that is one timeless moment in sports history. I would love to see the footage of that (if any exists), all I have seen is the reenactment from the movie but it was awe inspiring even then.
Re: Steelers' DB GUARANTEES Upset of New England
I'm a little late on this one, but did anybody else hear the audio from the actual interview where he made the guarantee. He was kinda goaded into it.
He was basically saying, "I think we can win". Then the interviewer said "Is that a guarantee?", or something like that. He was sorta laughing as he said, Sure, that's a guarantee.
It still takes balls to say it out loud, but he was joking more than he was being pompous. Which isn't how it is/was being reported for the most part.

I didn't hear the interview only the aftermath of it, thus the media-frenzied "guarantee". Good to know he wasn't being serious considering the outcome. I hate to admit it but NE/Brady looked really sharp...again.

Yeah, and I found it 'coincidental' that the safety who made this statement was burnt on 3 of the touchdowns. He may have been goaded into it, but he certainly didn't play very well on the field.
He should have kept his mouth shut.
