Re: What did Axl consider to be "Big Guns"
The Big Guns for me would be:
Better (the 06 version)
T.W.A.T.
I.R.S. (I know most of you guys would not agree on this one!)
If The World (never thought I'd be sayin this originally!)
Re: What did Axl consider to be "Big Guns"
I love IRS, always have. Everyone outside the forums I've spoke to about the album think its great as well.
I remember when it first leaked people thought it was great, then when it started getting played live people seemed to think it was even better, then when it was on the album people suddenly think its weak
In the last month I've got Madagascar and Catcher In The Rye a few spins on Rock Radio, IRS is next on the list. Best rocker on the album
Re: What did Axl consider to be "Big Guns"
Its nearly all Brain though. I've surmised, whilst under the influence of some good herbs, that Frank takes over the drums during the "feeling like I'm just too tired too care.." section, then it goes back to Brain when the chorus starts again.
I actually noticed a similar beat Brain used on Buckheads new album that he used on IRS, it stands out more for the beats he doesnt hit rather than the ones he does. Its weird, IRS has a really unusual pattern, there is delays and pauses where a mere mortal drummer might be tempted to bang away. I noticed that stoned as well, it drew me in and I focused on it, in a cosmic kind of way.
