Re: Why didn't the label support Chinese Democracy?

Yep.
I cannot imagine why on God's green these songs weren't all over comercials, sporting events, so on.
Parts of "Better" were played during Monday Night Countdown. Songs were played during WWE events too I've heard. At the beginning there was a definite push, but when the band did nothing to follow up on that push all momentum and interest was lost.

Chinese Democracy was the official song the WWE used to promote WWE Armageddon I believe, and everytime they played it, and advertised the PPV, they said that's "Chinese Democracy" off of Guns N' Roses new album, "Chinese Democracy", available at Best Buy stores everywhere!
That was all Azoff & UMG.

They were just trying to get the fans excited about hockey in Philly by inciting a riot.

^ It's funny.
Anyway, I'm sure it's been said but I think the label prob gave up pretty quickly. When Axl didn't do interviews, have a tour lined up, or do much in the way of getting himself out there, making a video etc. Then the release date came, still nothing. IMHO they gave up January 1st, 2009. I think Better was a single by then, and come the new year, the label stopped urging radio to play it, didn't care, didn't do anything.
The albums obviously taking up space on shelves now, probably moved some into the back by now. I think Axl should release a B-sides, outtakes, and demo's double cd, for cheap come the fall. If he has any really good songs left, put it on, get 1 single out of it, and promote it almost as "The Making Of" or "The Lost Sessions". Kinda like Lies or Incesticide was.
It'll never happen, and I'm dreaming, but I think it'd be worth a shot. Hell, really what the hell else is he gonna do?! And we know he's got a whole wall full of stuff to take from.
