Still, I doubt Axl is just gonna say "bye Dizzy, Chris, and Tommy. I'm replacing you with these guys."

If you haven't noticed most people in this band leave on their own.

You're not being invited to Fox News if you're a faceless nobody. They care about Ron too. However, half of it is from his own merit. big_smile

Here is a question

if Axl brings in DJ Ashba to write songs with, is that sort of the same as Bon Jovi and Aerosmith using Desmond Child?

No. There's nothing wrong with band members writing songs.

Actually, I'm not opposed to outside songwriters being brought to the table, but hopefully not Desmond Child. 16

On a sidenote, if DJ never writes or performs with Guns, could he really go down in history as an official member?  I'd have to say no.

I agree, and that's the main reason he is not listed on this site anywhere as a member. No point building statues in this guy's honor when he hasn't contributed anything.

Hannity is probably one of the Bumble nutswingers on these boards.

Yeah, I think DJ can bring some interesting things to the table and if we never get to hear a note from him in GNR it'd be a shame.  It seems like they jumped the gun on that announcement.  If nothing was ever said people would still be speculating that Axl's waiting for NIN to finish touring so Robin can come back.  I know people say we should hear more from GNR about what's going on but unfortunately when we do hear an update it isn't often followed through on.  If Azoff never said that 2009 would be exciting times for GNR, or however he phrased it, maybe we'd be less surprised that nothing's going on.  Then they announce DJ is added for a tour, then quickly changed the wording and took out the tour part to make it clear that he'll be a permanent member, not just a touring member.  So I don't know how much good, constant updates would do us.  Might just lead to more frustration.  We're probably better off not knowing the ins and outs, that could be some horrifying information.

I don't know Desmond Child....but i actually don't mind band's using other songwriters...as I can imagine it's easy for your creativity to get stiffled when trapped with the same 3 or 4 people for decades. Although it depends - in some cases you'd be changing a magic formula already - but i'm just saying - while its cool when bands write their own shit - i think zakk's recent comments went a bit far

the fans miss robin. does axl? if axl missed robin like the fans..DJ would not be in the picture. axl shafted robin

No.  5 fans miss Robin.

millions of guns n' roses fans miss robin. DJ will get booed off the stage. the "we want robin" chants will drown out axl's live vocals
