I like that one with the silly voice....literally makes me laugh cause I could see him stoned in the studio cracking up while singing it.
I like that part too, its friggin funny
i really dig the subtle baz backing vocals too, they are hard to hear but cool none the less
i think the only songs i dont like on the album are This I Love and Shacklers
even prostitute is pretty cool when it comes down to it

Sorry is probably my least favourite song on the album. Musically its ok I suppose, but the lyrics are pretty cringeworthy at times.
Cringeworthy lines aside, the rest of the words dont do anything for me at all either, I just cant relate to them. I also find the chorus pretty dull.

Sorry is a great song, but the lyrics just happen to be the weakest part.
He took this great song, and wrote Get In The Ring-style lyrics for it. It's still a rockin' song though, and one of the best on the album. It's just not flawless.

I really love the whole album.
However if i was forced to get critical...I think sorry is the weakest track on the record...it's just much blander than everything else.
And I think Axl and chris' parts on prostitute are amazing but that it could have used some kind of other guitar work. It needs an epic solo to me. But then i guess i'm just a guitar junkie 
I think "twat" and "better" are big guns compared to the live versions of Silkworms and riad tho....

I notice "Sorry" getting beat up a bit here. A little surprising. That song got voted as one of the top 20 songs of 2008 on the Rolling Stone website if I remember correctly. How did that happen if so many people are ranking it among their least favorites? Did the love for the song wear off? And how DID "Sorry" end up on that list anyway? I mean it had to be a push by GNR fans right? I wasn't a part of that and heard nothing about it. Why was THAT song chosen? I found that odd when I first heard it and with the recent comments about the song it seems even more odd. But I do tend to remember a lot of people liking that song at first, am I wrong there?

Not to dispute whether the album is brilliant or not but I was listening to The Stern Show today. They had on Francis Ford Coppola and he had a few comments that I couldn't help but think of Axl. Of course he wasn't talking about Axl but that's how my mind works.
1) Howard asked him if he was impressed by any "new" movies or if they just didn't make them like they used to. He responded that he felt that most movies today are redone 20 times and there are very few original ideas. He did say that he liked "Burn After Reading" even though it wasn't widely accepted and said that if something is a little different people shy away from it because it's not something they're used to.
I thought of Chinese Democracy in that sense, but I'm sure many would argue it's not all that different from a lot of stuff that has been released. I just think it clearly runs the gamut and is sort of all over the place and people aren't used to that.
2) Howard asked him how difficult it was to work with Marlon Brando. He responded that he just gave him his space and that he was a brilliant actor that was misunderstood. He said anytime someone seems "a little off" or out there people think they're crazy and don't understand them. Thus getting a bad reputation.
I couldn't help but think that describes Axl.
3) I forget exactly how the discussion came up but Francis said that people who do drugs or were drug addicts cannot be trusted and cannot tell the truth. It's bore into them to lie.
I won't say that's how I view Slash, but Axl just might.

You need to read the story about the making of Apocalypse Now by Coppola....much like Chinese Democracy. Coppola made this ultra-long sprawling sometimes genius, sometimes half crazy movie that was way over budget and out of control. What got released in final form was only a shell of the whole thing. He did release Apocalypse Now Redux which completed the picture more to Coppola's original vision...we think! Anyhow, Axl needs and really needed to release all the music at one time to show the entire picture and to offset the negative publicity about how long it took to make the album.
Oh well, if a frog had wings, he would not bump his ass a hoppin'.
