Re: Axl's fired and re hired Azoff 3 times in last 5 weeks!
The gossip is Axl's fired and re-hired Azoff a few times in the last few months, full stop. Thats all they had to say.
Bringing up manic depression and insinuating it has something to do with this rumour is just ignorance about the condition, and using it as a way to knock Axl.
Exactly in the way he mentioned in the chats:"In my world all bi polar means is that someone can try to take cheap uneducated shots..."
Its a gossip column, I highly doubt Azoff is the kind of guy to put up with being hired and fired all those times. Once mabye, but after the 2nd time he strikes me as the kind of person who would just say, "ok enough of this shit, whats it going to be?"
If Axl actually has some sort of mental problem (I'd wager a kidney that he does) then it's quite possible Azoff realizes his behavior is a symptom of that illness and is patient with him. I'd bet this happens more often than we realize with celebs. They are often off in their own little worlds.
Re: Axl's fired and re hired Azoff 3 times in last 5 weeks!
Of course another spin on this article is it was an intentional leak from Azoff's camp. He then gets off scott free for any responsibility for fact that CD's release ended up looking like a dogs breakfast.
By getting in first and also throwing in the comment about Axl's mental illness people automatically assume "poor Azoff how did he possibly manage to work with that crazy guy, he must have had the patience of a saint..." etc etc
He can then walk away from the whole clusterfuck with his professional reputation intact and a cool $2M. Axl is left sitting at home with only $1M from the saga and a career sitting on a knifes edge.
My take on it is there is probably blame on both sides for the shithouse way CD came out and how it was handled. It's certainly not all Azoff's fault by any stretch of the imagination, but at the same time I doubt all the blame is Axl's either. I'm sure there are simply too many people with their own agendas around Axl that he doesn't know which way to move or who to trust, consequently he becomes almost paralysed unable to move, trying second and third guess every decision before he makes it. He then ends up making no decision.
Re: Axl's fired and re hired Azoff 3 times in last 5 weeks!
Not that I don't believe this, because it does seem pretty logical. But the Daily News isn't the most credible paper is it? I thought it had a bit of a reputation as a gossip kind of paper, and it is in the gossip section.
I think you're thinking about the NY Post which has a notorious rep for being a gossipy/ unreliable newspaper.
Back to the topic, if he fires Azoff , the list of people who are interested in managing him is very short and he'd be back to a Merck/Goldstein type manager
which isn't good news for anyone--fans or Axl.anyone think this meltdown has to do with his muse and great obsession of his life Steph is back on the market??
To be honest, the meltdown happened long before that.
Is it the Post that's considered the gossip newspaper in NY? I knew it was one or the other.
Anyway, who knows if this is true or not. I'd say anything printed in the "gossip" column of ANY publication, there's a 50/50 chance of it being legit or bogus. And as I said before, I don't find it hard to believe. I was holding out hope until recently. There really hasn't been any "good" news in some time so it's pretty apparent to me that there's nothing on the horizon. In fact the bad news is heating up fast. If that keeps up maybe that'll force a statement or an official update of some sort. Oh, who am I kidding?
Re: Axl's fired and re hired Azoff 3 times in last 5 weeks!
That post did come from the gossip part of there site
I think monkey means that Ron has talked about playing with the band, working out Dj's parts, getting equipment ready to tour, that CD hasnt been properly supported, and that things are good on the inside. It could be as simple as thats Axls joke way of telling Azoff to piss off and stop hounding him. Ever thought there not ready yet ?
In Ron's defense, IF this has all taken place in the last 5 weeks, it's quite possible that that most recent interview of his took place 5 weeks ago or longer so he'd have no knowledge of any of this. I don't think a date was given for that interview was there? I remember him mentioning rehearsals in January and than mention months passed so I figured it was from April or May. After all it seems that the band members have been off doing their own things since rehearsals finished up in early May. So while Ron and Axl may text back and forth he may not tell him every time he fires Irv (if that happened). Again, a case of "the boy who cried wolf". Is it worth updating if it's not really final? There are couples who break up 3 times in 5 weeks and maybe they tell their friends about it the first time but after that it's like, "yeah whatever, you'll get back together."

And being a dickhead isn't an illness?
Calling things an 'illness' takes away responsibility. These medical terms that get thrown around are a defense of Axl, even when used to discredit him. We'd rather not face the fact that he's a screw-up and will remain one, and that he doesn't care about us at all. So we pretend it's not his choice to treat us like shit. But it is. And he does. End of story.
Azoff should give up on him and move onto groups with potential if pushed properly.
Well, you are right. A grown man should take responsibility for his own actions, and at some point, your "personality disorders" are not an excuse. Axl is at that point and has been for awhile. Millions upon millions of people have personality disorders to varying degrees. I am not making an excuse for him. But, it is and has been obvious for 20 years that he has various issues that affect how he conducts his business and personal life.:|
ps As for Azoff, I imagine he spends very little time dealing with Axl.

While I agree that this "COULD" be the scenario, it's doubtful.
When there is money to be made, Azoff doesn't fuck up.
Axl, on the other hand, pretty much fucks up everything he sees, smells, hears and touches.

Re: Axl's fired and re hired Azoff 3 times in last 5 weeks!
One thing I don't think enough people consider is that Axl can only be who he is.
In my opinion there is a lot of him and his personality captured in his music, and it comes from very real place.
What these articles always seem to boil down to is "Axl's a cunt and he should be different or do different things" but he'd have to alter his personality to do that, and that would have dire consequences on the artistic results.
At the end of the day, in my opinion, the bullshit that fucks up the business side of things and angers fans and others, is a very real part of the same psyche that is able to create the musical masterpieces he makes. He only has one mind, and it's a package deal. I think people should keep that in mind is all and maybe show a bit more understanding.
