Some of the guys in the band seem to be keeping busy, just not with GNR related stuff.

Ron is jamming with anyone he can these days and going to shows.  From Loaded, to Pisser, to Chickenfoot.

Baz is recording like an animal but doesn't have plans to tour, which doesn't bode well for GNR

@tanyalees no touring plans at the moment. waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhh

Obviously Frank is playing with Pisser, Dizzy's off with his latest side band.  Don't know what Brain, Tommy, Chris, or DJ is up to.

So all in all, it looks like we very well could be on the verge of some serious dead time in the land of GNR.  Maybe they'll surprise us, but I'm not expecting anything anymore.  I just wonder where things went wrong.  I mean, THIS couldn't possibly have been the plan, right?  Why add DJ to the mix if a tour wasn't imminent?  Is it necessary to fill Robin's slot while the band sits idle?  Did DJ know what he was getting into?  I know Axl said the "plan" was to tour the album.  But obviously plans change.  It'd make it worthwhile if he, DJ, and others were making some finishing touches on some songs and/or writing some new ones.  But then again, I know I don't live in fantasyland.  Maybe the plan still is to tour the album.  Hell they toured it 6 years before it came out, who's to say they won't tour it 6 years after its release?  See you all in 2014.  I can't WAIT!!!

Didn't a previous Baz twitter insinuate possible shows in a comment made to Fortus?

We already know nothing is happening, but these Twitter comments really bring it into reality.

Regardless of whether or not there was gonna be a major tour or just a couple shows, those rehearsals must have sucked big time.

Get onboard or fuck off in G.....

There's no point in having Ashba in the line up with no tour on the horizon, unless Axl just likes having people on his payroll.

So glad we never added him to the website. I knew it would be pointless and comical to do so.

Given you guys, recently have been determined on turning every thread in this section into a reunion thread, it's the next logical step.

I think it's little steps.

Axl's considering a tour some time in the future but not straight away, like if something comes up that he wants to play or in a few months or whatever. It was obvious from his comments it wasn't going to be short term.

You have no ability to tour with no band, even if the best offer ever comes up, so he hires DJ to replace robin so that he now has ability to tour if he wants to.

we then just have to wait until he's in the mood, not busy with the legal stuff and whatever else, and until a tour idea (offer) that suits his interest comes up.

It will eventually happen IMO, the hiring of DJ shows that, but I don't think it's going to necessarily be as soon as we'd like.

I wouldn't stress about Baz too much though, he's drop most things he was working on to join Axl on a tour if it was possible for him to drop them I think....so plans could change fast. But this just shows its more a potential idea than a firm plan at the moment...and that's pretty much what Axl/Dexter said when online.

The thing I don't get with DJ, is he was presumably with a pretty solid band.  Granted, Nikki Sixx was juggling Motley Crue AND SixxAM, but still isn't that a better gig than possibly going on tour with GNR?  Maybe not.  Maybe it looks good on the resume for DJ even if he never plays a show with them, at least he was considered and chosen.  I just would like to think that there was a plan in place and somewhere, somehow, that plan got blown off the tracks.  Now, "where do we go?"

very simple, you don't rehearse if a tour was not planned. It was and something happened...who knows what but it was scrapped. Some Velvet Rope industry chat insinuated some form of recent Axl meltdown.

Such is life in the world of GNR.  The album took SO long to make/come out and we still don't really know why.  Now this!  We'll probably never know exactly what happened, what went wrong.  I wouldn't be surprised though if we get an explanation from Axl down the line blaming the record company or someone else for the fiasco.
