Re: Chris Cornell does song on New Slash record
never been a fan of cornhole...he's got pipes though
actually i take that back there are a few cool SG songs but i actually prefer his Audioslave stuff to his soundgarden stuff...
but i wont deny that i'm really excited to hear what this song will sound like
Still cant hardly believe you never appreciated Soundgarden. You have good taste otherwise. That whole band was just so talented its insane.
I want Cornell and Slash to do a simple song that just kicks ass. I hope Slash holds himself back from trying some epic style NR solo. Hopefully Cornell can reign him in on that.
Slash and Cornell, give us something like this......
Re: Chris Cornell does song on New Slash record
I didn't like Spoonman either...those are the only 2 I heard and I never bothered to check out anything else after that. Audioslave has some cool songs.
I guess you'll be getting a PM soon.
Check out that song I posted above while I'm sending you the discog.
Soundgarden was horrific at choosing singles, Outshined and Fell on Black Days the main exceptions.
Re: Chris Cornell does song on New Slash record
i remember buying badmotorfinger during the grunge craze and i was more of a nirvana guy, they were my band of choice followed by PJ and AIC...even though chris was similar to Axl in style i never really "got" them..i identified more with Kurt
even listening to their discog years later i still couldnt fill a cd worth of songs from them to make a gh....like i said i preferred the audioslave stuff...but i've always been a RATM fan
Re: Chris Cornell does song on New Slash record
Soundgarden being labeled as grunge was a huge mistake by their label, management, and media during the grunge craze. They were basically a straight up metal band channeling Sabbath and Zep that went into major experimentation on their last two records.
The band will never get the credit it truly deserves.
Re: Chris Cornell does song on New Slash record
Cornell sampler platter:
"Can't Change Me" - from his first solo record, Euphoria Morning
"Fell on Black Days" - Superunknown, by Soundgarden
"Pretty Noose" - Down on the Upside by Soundgarden
"Be Yourself" - Out of Exile by Audioslave
Thats an interesting platter. I think Pretty Noose is one of that album's worst tracks. The selection of singles killed that record.
Olorin and Buzzsaw, after you download that discography, give these songs a spin...
Screaming Life/Fopp:
Hunted Down
Nothing To Say
Little Joe
FOPP
Ultramega OK:
Flower
Beyond the Wheel
Mood for Trouble
Smokestack Lightning
Incessant Mace
Louder than Love:
Hands All Over
Gun
Full On Kevin's Mom
No Wrong No Right
Big Dumb Sex
Full On(Reprise)
Badmotorfinger:
Outshined
Jesus Christ Pose
Slaves and Bulldozers
Searching With My Good Eye Closed
Room a Thousand Years Wide
Mind Riot
Drawing Flies
Superunknown:
My Wave
Fell On Black Days
Mailman
Superunknown
Head Down
Fresh Tendrils
4th of July
Half
Down on the Upside:
Ty Cobb
Applebite
Never the Machine Forever
Switch Opens
Overfloater
An Unkind
Boot Camp
CC is right about Cant Change Me being the best song on his first solo record. His 2nd sucked, and while his new one is a clusterfuck, it has a couple decent tracks. Audioslave is solid, but the best tracks are Cochise, Yesterday to Tomorrow, and Be Yourself.
Re: Chris Cornell does song on New Slash record
Black Hole Sun is the only one I know.
I didnt like grunge and I still dont like depressing moody music.
That Soundgarden/Nirvana type sound just didnt do anything at all for me, I dont like the sound of that SuperUnknown album at all.
I'll youtube some of these songs, I'm pretty sure my brother will have some of the albums as well, but nothing I've heard so far tickles my fancy. Its not the lyrics or singing, its just that the music doesnt do much for me.
