The journalist who wrote the "Recife" gig story writes for a major Brazilian newspaper called; "Jornal do Comércio", so the rumour appears to be legit.

If the entire fall tour is gonna be south of the border, they've got some tough decisions to make in 2010. The summer tour season is the most lucrative in the U.S. and Europe, and obviously you cant do both legs at the same time. The chances of success for them in the U.S. would be favored in summer(as all their fall tours here implode), but you don't really want to miss out on those huge Euro festivals either.

Both could be achieved I suppose, but only if both legs are very minimized. Even smaller than that list I posted a couple pages back. Hit those festivals, then immediately head back to this side of the pond and hit the major cities.

Will be interesting to see how they approach this.

GNR's bread and butter at this point are those Euro festivals.

Any stateside tours will be in the Fall most likely. I don't really see that changing, regardless of the fact they're 0-for-2 at the plate for completing one.

I hope they do a festival thats pro shot and we get some cool footage.

I'd love them to release an offical live video or somethign too one day. Cos i notice the pro shot vids we always get are editied by people who can't tell which guitarist is playing what solo - like they cose up on robins hands while bumble plays a solo lol

The only thing they do in the states is major cities imo.

No stopping off in BFE, West Virginia to play in front of three cousins and a mule.

I resent that 14.

I was at Hunington, WV in 2006 and was one of the best shows of my life.  First time Axl played down on the farm.  That place was packed with people from Ohio, KY, WV and PA.  I should know.  I was the 2nd person to show up and was on the rail front row center.  Did my civic duty to educate everyone about the new band.

I was at the Hammerstein for two shows in 06 and all I heard was bitching from posers who some how lucked out and got tickets that real fans would have appreciated.  I'll take the WV show any day of the week over the yentas that came to NY.  Though the Quicken Arena show in Cleveland was badass too when Axl called them the Pigeons of Shit Metal.  Good times.

It's really a hard choice to make.  They have a much better chance of selling a lot more tickets in Europe during the summer season.

But if the a US summer tour is backed by sold out shows down south and a re-release of the album, it could be very good.  Not to mention it would could put GNR back on the map over here.

But sold out shows down south, with huge audiences in the summer, with a re-release, could work good for a US fall tour.
