My vote still goes for Faulk.

I vote for Sanders, even though he was amazing. He didn't have the playoff moments, and he didn't play long enough. Faulk would be my next pick.

Sanders had a lukewarm career because he was unlucky to get drafted by Detroit. I always felt bad for him. A truly amazing athlete that deserved much better. He could've taken an average team to the SB. Instead, he played for the worst team in the league in the 90's. To ad insult to injury, the lions had a fluke good season and were one win away from the SB in 92, and it gave him false hope that good things were right around the corner. Lions never came within a light year after that.

I think he fell in love with the money Detroit was giving him early in his career. He should have demanded a trade about 3 years into his career. Lions would have done it. They could have had anything for him.

I have to say Thurman Thomas.  He did some good things but it is his fumbles that are hard to forget.  Buffalo had an amazing three run Superbowl appearance but came away empty handed each time.  Thomas' fumbles were a large contributor to this unfortunate legacy.

Thomas is not the reason they lost those SBs. If Norwell makes that kick, Thomas is the clear MVP of that game. No question. And the next two the Bills didn't really get close, partially because of him but largely due to passing game problems and the D. And the 4th Super Bowl, well his fumble is a bad play and certainly a turning point in the game, but it really was a matter of time before they gave that game away too. And don't forget he was injured in the playoffs on the way to their third, and missed the Comeback game for three quarters.

Thurman is also thwon by the wayside in these lists, but really he was the most important part of arguably the best offense in NFL history.

Although this just feels a bit odd, because everyone on the list is pretty spectacular.

I've always found it odd how much the "Can't win the big game" stigma sticks with people/teams.  That was a fantastic team, but the most talk you ever hear is "They suck, they lost 3 Superbowls".  Somehow people completely forget that THEY GOT TO THREE SUPERBOWLS.  It's always bothered me.

People also forget they went to four straight Superbowls, and that will never be repeated.

I don't necessarily buy into the "big game" theory, look at Dan Marino...he proves that to be a poor representation of a total career.  However, in my opinion Thomas repeated these mistakes far too many times to be ON THIS LIST.  That is my point, not that he sucked nor that the Bills did not acheive some great things but this is the 10 Greatest RBs of all time...right?  Well, he's not in that top ten in my book.  He obviously did far more good than he did bad.  The argument that his fumbles did not lose any of the big games may be true but I watched those superbowls.  The fumbles (in at least one or two of the big games) DID change the momentum.  Is it fair to him? No.  However he and Kelly were THE staples of that team, the leaders.  If the leader makes some big mistakes repeatedly it does damage the morale.
