Re: The BATMAN Thread
And once again Seth MacFarlane take an audio clip to juice his TV show for 2 minutes, because the lazy prick can't write material.
Seriously, Family Guy has been a lazy ass, unfunny, hack, half-hearted show since it's return in 2005. The 'classic' first three seasons were terrific TV. The 'revival' is one of the worst shows on TV.

This isn't related, but it is hilarious watching "The Joker" do magic tricks at a childrens birthday party.

TDK made it to $1 billion. Took a long ass time, but it made it. It is only the 4th movie to make $1 billion. Hell of a milestone considering Batman Begins made $371 million.
Re: The BATMAN Thread
I can't believe it still has to beat "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest".... now that was a film that was all hype.

Re: The BATMAN Thread
I know... lame isn't it?
I NEVER have understand the hype around those Pirates films. They SUCK. All of them. And this is coming from a Depp fan.
I'm a fan of the Pirates movies, though I fully recognize that parts 2 and 3 are clusterfuck messes in filmmaking. They literally threw everything including the kitchen sink into those two movies. The first one is great entertainment though IMHO. Captain Jack is a hell of a character. He and he alone is the reason Pirates 2 and 3 grossed more than $2 billion combined. If Depp hadn't come back for the sequels, they would have outright flopped. He was 90% of the reason the first one was any good in the first place. The best thing about the Pirates movies, aside from Johnny Depp's Captain Jack, is the transfers on Blu-ray. All 3 of them have kickass transfers.
Re: The BATMAN Thread
Adjusted for inflation it's actually like this...
6. Titanic - $924,090,400
27. The Dark Knight - $533,090,300
44. Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest - $465,324,200
50. The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King - $443,074,600

50. The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King - $443,074,600
And when you adjust them for inflation worldwide, it looks like this:
Titanic - $2.834 billion
Return of the King - $1.315 billion
Pirates 2 - $1.172 billion
TDK - $1.001 billion
Here's a list I came up with for adjusted worldwide numbers. It's not complete but it's just some of the movies from the past that have easily sold enough tickets to make $1 billion.
Gone With The Wind - $2.933 billion
Star Wars - $2.155 billion
Star Wars: Phantom Menace - $1.31 billion
Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone - $1.235 billion
Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets - $1.089 billion
Lord of the Rings: Two Towers - $1.124 billion
Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring - $1.091 billion
Jaws - $1.67 billion
Independence Day - $1.33 billion
Jurassic Park - $1.591 billion
The Exorcist - $1.508 billion
The Godfather - $1.031 billion
Forrest Gump - $1.161 billion
Raiders of the Lost Ark - $1.006 billion
The Lion King - $1.327 billion
Finding Nemo - $1.03 billion
Shrek 2 - $1.066 billion
Spider-Man - $1.018 billion
Grease - $1.161 billion
And the list could go on and on...
