Never is a long time and the people saying never when it comes to a reunion will be wrong. They always are when it comes to bands.

The GN'R situation is different. Take Van Halen for example. They fired Roth, not the other way around. One guy in GN'R controls the band's destiny, which is a big difference from something like Van Halen where the egomaniac frontman got kicked out and was re-hired as an employee of the other guys. If Axl had been fired instead of getting 100% control of the name, I would agree that a reunion would happen at some point. But as long as he alone controls the name of the band, it won't happen unless you really think Slash is going to accept being Axl's employee.

Is it not the same type of jump you made  with "there has been no conversation" and "I don't think that's salvageable." to a reunion is inevitable.

Well, Slash has never said he was against a reunion, he's said before he'd be up for it, but it was conditional. Just like he said here. Nothing new there. And he pretty much said he didn't think a reunion would happen. And I think he killed any chance of it happening here when he critized the Duff Axl show moment about going on late (that was a really stupid thing to do if he really "wanted" to get back on Axl's good side) and the fact he's going back to the conditions.

The only way a reunion would happen is if he agreed to put up with Axl's baggage (he'll also be dealing with the Malibu mafia). This looks the furthest away from a reunion I've ever seen it. Because I thought a one off show was possible up til now. Now I'm doubting that. I don't see anything saying a reunion is inevitable.

NO it´s not even  close. I clearly aknowledged Slash said some compromise would need to take place. I don´t have to paraphrase everything Slash said or at least I´d think I wouldn´t have to but obviously I do.  I never hit on any of the stuff about no disscusions being had between the two because it didn´t need to be mentioned cause we all read it. Despite that stuff  a reunion in my eyes is inevitable at some point. That´s all I said but you took that to mean I think Axl and Slash are on speaking terms and discussing a new album and tour which is so fucked. I have no idea how you even came up with that.

I said dont treat it like that is what he said. I never said u said these things.

It would be the same thing in my eyes for you to say a reunion is going to happen after reading this article(and u said it was going to happen) As it would be to make it out like all is cool for Slash and Axl ect...ect .

Later you clarified that it is your OPINION that the reunion will happen regardless of the content of the interview. It may in time! it may not. You stated that people argue a reunion with you. .

With your opinion they can only agree or disagree/debate. People can argue that this post means the reunion will/wont happen. I had no impression from this article that a reunion was gonna happen. And I dont understand why this needs to turn into a reunion Fantasythread.

To be clear:
Yes everyone else (in the band)seems to get along.
I never said u said these things.
There is no evidence from this article that a reunion will happen.
People may disagree with your opinion. We all feel differently.
There is no need to take a disagreement personal.
Personal attacks have no place on a open forum

This is my opinion:
Reunion-opinion/Fantasy  threads are fun but it gets old.

That's vague but I'd assume that to mean:

* The AFD guys are full band members not employees

* No late starts

So the question then becomes, can would Axl give gim the former and can Axl give him the later?

I think it comes down to friendship. If they got nostalgic for the days of fighting the world together, the old band would probably cut Axl the occasional late start, but I don't think they're up for it while he's in 100% control of everything. As for Axl, well we don't know how he'll feel forever, but his last public comments were from someone who seemed quite hurt on a friendship level. So there's some work to do.

lol - Slash comment on Tyler and American Idol.  I think he should shut his mouth when it comes to other people doing anything like that.  He's throwing stones whilst sitting in a very big glass house.

Re the comment about "they still went on an hour late".  I don't think it's stupid that he mentioned that.  I think it's abundantly clear that Slash isn't going to 100% bend over and cop it in the ass just for a reunion.  He doesn't need to unlike say an Adler.

If/when a reunion happens (BTW I'm with Bono on this one, I think it WILL happen at some point in some form), I think Axl's tardiness is one of the things that Slash and Duff will definitely want addressed in any agreement.  Same with equal share and say.  I tip my hat to Slash and Duff for wanting to have "on time starts", shows they have respect for the fans, plus they obviously don't want to cop the fines either.  Yes I know that these 2 requests will probably be sticking points for Axl and make any potential reunion harder, but I can't see Duff or Slash compromising, nor should they.

I still laugh at the irony of the title Chinese Democracy and then compare this to the way Axl likes to run his bands.

And he just sort of kept me posted through the day and at one point he said he was going down to the venue with Axl. And I was, like, 'Wow!' 'Cause a lot of years have gone by. And so then the next one was that he was gonna be going on stage or something. And so he went and they did, like, I think it was five or six songs. So it was cool. And then the next day he told me it was great, everything was very cool, they went out and had dinner, and so they had that sort of, whatever, rekindling kind of thing. All things considered, the only thing I said about it was that... 'cause I know that they still ended up going on an hour late. And I was, like, 'Oooh.' That's the only part that would have left a bad taste in my mouth, supporting that."

Really shows how intricate this whole mess really is. It's like a game of chess. He was getting real time updates on the situation. 16

As long as the Malibu Mafia is playing checkers, nothing is salvageable.

Adler has been anything but careful with his thoughts and comments on a reunion.  He's gone out of his way to slam Axl's current version of GNR and dissing the UYI lineup as well.  Not exactly endearing himself to Axl.  He has been very complimentary towards Axl, and I doubt Axl really cares or even knows of Steven's comments.  Just Steven being Steven.  I respect his open honesty, but I don't think it's the smartest move when he's so desperate for a reunion and to get on Axl's good side.

Duff played it completely cool, and correctly by praising the current GNR lineup.  That's the proper way to handle things.  Not criticizing what Axl has done since 1990 or complaining about late starts.  That's not going to win them any brownie points.
