yeah but with every bad thing kills whatever chance of a US tour... no promoter is gonna touch GNR here with what has already went down. Axl is maybe hurting his lawsuit as well cause they can say they aren't booking GNR due to risks.. and then point to some of this stuff as evidence.
When 3 out of your first 4 shows are enveloped with controversy..thats not good.

If Axl actually managed to put his ass on stage within a reasonable time, we would be talking about the sucky set list instead. LOL.
They're doing well with the tickets though. People love a good controversy.

I was just thinking that's why the the shows have been selling because people are actually talking about GNR. Imagine that.
And I can't find them talking about Tommy at htgth so I can read jarmo's frantic spin.

this is definitely a delibeate tactic on GnR's part.
there's 3/4 weeks til they return to the UK. dunno what the press is like on the mainland but i imagine things may quiet down & become more stable than these first 4 shows. i expect more belfast type shows rather than reading/dublin until they get back to the UK..

Okay, i'm gonna make a few points here...
That was a bad crowd. Apparently. There were boos out of the gate, now we can sit here and try to come up with a bunch of different reasons as to why, "they want the real band", "people are tired of Axl Rose", despite my feelings on the subject, I think it boils down to.... it happens. Some nights on stage, the audience is the pits. You just can't win them over. That's what I think was going on there. It certaintly wasn't because of the new band, because that place was fucking packed, and I guarantee you everyone in there knew what they were getting.
Despite Axl, specifically having massive disrespect for his fans for years, in this case AXL WAS RIGHT. Throwing shit at the stage, I would be JUST as pissed as Axl, if not more pissed. I'm sorry that my bass player disagrees, but what the fuck ever. I'm not going out there to deal with a bunch of fucking kids, and i'm sorry if the good people that aren't doing it lose a show. If you don't like it, the person next to you that you see do it... beat the fucking shit out of them. ZERO tolarance, and i'm glad Axl feels the same way.
With that said...
how was the crowd at the end? Did people come back after they re-started?
Tommy quitting would be it for me...obviously.:(
Me too. Tommy quits, I quit too. The band loses ALL credibility without Tommy. He's got as much or more seniority than Duff at this point, and I respect Tommy the most of them all.
Tommy would be an irrepairable blow. About the only thing that could repair that loss is calling Duff.
And despite the fact I feel Axl was in the right here, I do not for a second blame Tommy for his frustration with the band right now. It's totally warranted. First Ron, now Tommy... something is amiss in the GN'R world right now. I just feel bad for the band, guys like DJ, Ron, Richard, Tommy, Frank, Dizzy & Chris who do want to give the audience their all.

who is in control of this band? who is booking shows? is it lawyers & del or what? beta?
who did manage to book this tour? it seems like a good idea & good schedule (if a bit criss-crossy around europe, but that's the way they always are) but if axl didn't do it & doc didn't do it & irving didn't do it who is or has been in charge?
i'm for all it's the audience's fault at dublin. BUT axl's been the #1 guy in GnR for 20years & he should have structures & reliable people in place to avoid such bad PR & fuck-ups as happened in dublin & last weekend & as have littered the GnR world... since axl became the #1 guy in GnR. he hasn't these structures in place because he seems not to be able to trust anyone for longer than 5 mins that isn't del or beta..

Peeps always say that, and then they still tour. It probably just means they have a higher deductible for their insurance, or require higher premiums etc. Everybody wants one thing: Money.
