Re: Sturgis, South Dakota, USA (Rock 'N Rev Festival)
I wonder how the crowd was, both in size and reception. They were giving away tickets 2 for 1, for $45. I'd imagine the last night of a week long festival would be the least attended, thus the reason for the discount, but that's not really a good sign. Some people keep expecting big changes in the setlist but I'm not sure why. It's pretty clear they've settled into a pretty static set with just a few changes from time to time. I don't foresee any Tokyo like sets on the horizon.

you don't need a Tokyo set but there's been songs there that haven't left the Guns setlist since year zero, & there's plenty of people who've seen those songs plenty of times. & there's plenty of absolutely killer material that could be played that'd be more interesting for many people.

True, but it doesn't appear they're going in that direction so I wouldn't be expecting it. It just seems with each new show people expect to hear "Civil War" or "Estranged" or some new song and I just don't see where you'd get that impression. I'm about as optimistic as they come, but you have to set some boundaries.

Translation: No one gives a flying fuck here and don't expect a U.S. tour anytime soon unless it happens to be a club tour which I'm starting to doubt. The few thousand forum junkies knew this was probably the last show here for the foreseeable future and there just wasn't much interest in going, and according to you guys, only a few spanning all the forums went.
The set list needs a major revamping(whether its UYI, CD, or new tracks), and its now obvious even the casuals here in our country are getting a bit fed up hearing Jungle for the trillionth time.
Some of you guys were saying no one cares about Soundgarden. At least Soundgarden isn't having to give away tickets at the last second to their shows.
They'll never headline this festival again, and the other festivals have probably taken notice. Your headliner is meant to sell the place out almost immediately, not cause an immediate K Mart 'Blue Light Special'. Between 500,000 and 750,000 people were in town for this rally, yet tickets have to be given away to watch the headliner.

Being headlined by their "major act"? Should have been the highest attended night of the festival.

The reason for the discount is because no one cared to see the show last night, and yeah ,....not a good sign.
If GNR do tour the states, they are absolutely gonna need a co-headliner.
Re: Sturgis, South Dakota, USA (Rock 'N Rev Festival)
They'll do the US again, as a headliner, with the real band. It's a shame to say that, anywhere but here (I still get it a bit here), your immediately not a real fan, a reunionite, a hater.
I really feel people are finished with this new band concept. When even your diehards don't care, it's over. I remember people flying cross country to see that New Year's HOB Vegas show in 2001. Things have changed, not just for Guns N' Roses, but even for the new band, it's changed. Even if you ignore pre-2001.
Setlist:
CD
Jungle
Easy
Brownstone
Sorry
4tus Solo
LALD
This I Love
Rocket Queen
Dizzy Solo
Street Of Dreams
You Could Be Mine
Ashba Solo
Sweet Child
Axl Piano Solo: pink floyd education (brief) / someone saved my life tonight silo
November Rain
Bumblefoot Solo (Pink Panther)

NightrainMadagascar
Paradise City

This is exactly right. The whole concept of this new band sucks now. The album came out almost two years ago, there's no sign of a new album any time soon, they're playing a scattering of shows(with a watered down setlist) here and there which I'm really starting to believe is just a way to keep up with the bills. The whole thing is so lame. I'll get flamed for it but the reality is it's Reunion or bust now for Guns N' Roses. the vast majority of people(including harcore fans) have just lost interest in this half assed attempt at carring on the name. Drop it and get back to real Guns N' Roses.
