Re: Sturgis, South Dakota, USA (Rock 'N Rev Festival)
How much did Axl pay Catullo to type up that story full of holes? So Alice In Chains can use their sounds system, but its not good enough for Axl. Interesting. This is how jaded I have become, I don't beleive anything anymore.

Agreed 100% I read that and just thought bullshit. Gimme a break. Plus nobody had the brain cells to mention this while it was taking place. what a fucking laugh.

The thing is, I haven't heard anyone associated with the show have a single bad word to say about GNR or the show itself. Things seemed to go off quite well,,,,,,, after the delayed start. Maybe their expectations were so low that they were happy GNR showed up and played at all. But right when the show started, Rock N Rev was tweeting about how awesome and surreal it was that Axl Rose had hit the stage. And they thanked GNR for a great show when it was all over. So I don't think Axl had to pay anyone to say these things.
I will say though, it's a little bush league about the sound system. If it's good enough for ALL the other bands, it should be good enough for GNR. And if that's what caused the delay, then in essence it WAS the bands fault for the delay. It could've been avoided if they just used the system that was in place. Now I'm not an audio engineer so I don't know the reasons behind it, but I'm sure they could've survived without using THEIR own sound system.

Things to note, GNR's sounds system still lets you hear DJ's fuckups and Axl's ragged out voice... Is this the clip where everyone is saying Ron looks pissed? I can't tell. Ron is by far one of the coolest guys in the current lineup.

The promoter is a huge GNR/AXL fan, so he will defend him no matter what, its obvious. I agree with Faldor that GNR should have just yoused their sound system and done everyone the favor.

aic should have closed
Obviously. Amazing how an Alice In Chains sans Layne Staley is more legit, and more enjoyable than this GN'R.
Must be weird for Jerry who's still great buddies with Slash going on before fake GN'R.
Re: Sturgis, South Dakota, USA (Rock 'N Rev Festival)
Absolutely. And if some people get pissed off, fuck 'em.
Instead it's all this typical Axl cloak & dagger shit. When those technical issues were going on, and I don't doubt they were, Axl wasn't even FUCKING THERE.
And that alone is the biggest problem, from day fucking one. The single handed destruction of his relationship with the old band started in 1991 with coming late to the venue to perform. If Axl cut that shit out from day one, i'd go so far to say Guns N' Roses would've never broke up. They didn't start having animosity towards the guy until that very moment, and of course the whole calling them out on stage shit in LA in 1989.
Re: Sturgis, South Dakota, USA (Rock 'N Rev Festival)
well, I mean giving GNR benefit of the doubt, why not come onstage and explain the technical difficulty? Fans would've been understanding i am sure.
Yeah, why not? Have some guy just get on stage and explain it's not his fault. Damage control.
Some people here though, I gotta laugh. While I get targeted for drinking too much Axl kool aid, others are simply addressing Axl on EVERYTHING that's going on. Like some secret conspiracy shit going down behind everyones eyes and ears. If I didn't know better, I would think this was an episode of fucking X-Files season 1. Just replace the word "UFO" and "cover up" with "Axl Rose" and "asshole". Well, whatever makes for entertainment.
