Guns N Roses To Play For Sydney V8 Supercars

Guns `n Roses are tipped to return to Australia in December to perform for the Sydney 500 V8 Supercars race.
The Daily Telegraph is spreading the word based on a source within the walls of the organisation who is getting an earful of the negotiations.
Last year, Cold Chisel reformed for the event.
Axl Rose last paraded his new look Guns n Roses around Australia in 2007.
A bunch of dates have popped up the last couple of days for September/October so it seems like they'll be doing an all out European tour then. Maybe that's where the story about the tour being pushed back came from? As far as I know, there aren't any rumored dates for July and most of August. So why the 2 month break and then return to Europe? Seems like odd scheduling. I'd like to think they're going to wrap up another album in that time, but that couldn't possibly be the case, could it?

Just read this over on HTGTH. An interview with DJ. It all makes sense, but we've heard this story before.
He says they did tour in Asia, South and Central America, Europe and gonna do UK, Australian (maybe) and then States

Because the Super Bowl actually has a specific break time (half-time), that actually is conductive to a musical performance. It keeps audiences interested, keeps momentum going, and adds to the sporting celebration.
Also keep in mind, the Super Bowl is the biggest sporting event in the world, not just America. It's the one time during a year, that a sporting event is watched universally by millions. Nothing is bigger. Not soccer, and certaintly not Best 4 of 7 series, such as the World Series, the Stanley Cup, the NBA Finals, etc.
The Super Bowl "works" for that outlet.
World Cup, European Cup, Champions Leauge > Super Bowl globally. Maybe not in the States but pretty much everywhere else. Also every football match has a good fifteen-twenty minutes of half time break, no reason something couldn't go in there.

LEGENDARY rockers Guns N' Roses have agreed to make just their second trip to Australia since 1993 - to appear at this year's Sydney 500 V8 Supercars street race.
Frontman Axl Rose last night confirmed the band will perform a one-off gig on Saturday, December 4, at ANZ Stadium, following the weekend's first event around the Olympic Park circuit.
"To mix Guns with this massive Sydney event will be a blast," Rose said.
"We will be in Europe just before we head to Sydney so it will be great to come out and chill around Australia for a while, spend a bit of time getting around and soaking up the relaxed Aussie vibe.
"When we came back in 2007 it had been about 14 years between tours in Australia and we had a complete ball.
"Bring on Sydney and the V8 Supercars. Hopefully I can get a ride in one of those big beasts while I'm there."
Famous for hit 1990s singles Sweet Child Of Mine, November Rain and You Could Be Mine, the US bad boys are expected to lift this year's total gate well above the 184,000 that attended the first-up event last December.
Acting Premier John Hatzistergos is scheduled to make an official announcement today and is confident interstate fans will flock to Sydney for the band's only East Coast performance.
It's believed V8 Supercars officials are paying Guns N' Roses more than $1 million to perform the solitary gig, included in the $91 price of Saturday's admission.
