I prefer Axl's version, but Myles was doing a really different cover, he didn't try to copy Axl - although that could have been better. Myles sings really good, denying it would be stupid, like saying Buckethead can't play guitar.

Myles is a great singer, although nobody can be liked by everyone. I'd be happy to have him in VR.

I think he is a good fit for Slash with or without VR and my daughter loves the Gnr version of SCOM. 16

For VR to continue, they are going to need to cater to their audience, and present themselves as Guns N' Roses without Axl, full on. Doing GN'R albums, sans Axl, no different than what Axl's doing.

I know that's gonna piss some people off, but their old, it's their gravy train, it's their survival at this point.

It's the only way they'd get any interest from me, and I know quite a few old Gunners that feel the same.

I hope that when Axl dies, he gets a big all-star tribute like MJ did.

Slash, Izzy, Duff and whoever can be the house band, and they can get a ton of massive singers to come on stage and sing Guns N' Roses songs.

I could be wrong, but I can't see that happening as one thing a lot of the old members agree on is axl's use of the name is somewhat unfortunate. Some of them even say they like Chinese Democracy but just that it shouldn't be called GNR as that's a different thing. So i'd be surprised to see them take essentially the same approach. Although I'm sure they'd be happy to do some covers. I guess what I mean is, I think perhaps the old band respect that Axl was fundemental to what GNR was, more than say, Axl respects that the old band were fundemental parts of it.

Matt is a good example, he's pretty much called Axl a dick in the past, but he also ranted at length about Axl's stage presence, vocal abilities and the rockstarness of him. So despite the beef, I think they respect Axl more than to outright turn themselves into a GNR cover machine only.

Anyway I must say I wasn't familar with myles kennedy prior to him getting onto the slash album, but from the clips in this thread he definately has vocal chops. I'd like to see him in VR. While i'd hope if they do some GNR covers he'd have the abilities to do some of the more challanging songs rather than just Used to Love her etc....but I'd like to see him write some new songs with them. VR was a pretty cool band to me, it was just a level under perfection, not enough slash solos, and while i liked scotts melodies, he is repedative and limited in range, with a stronger singer and slash being allowed out of the box more, I feel a new VR album could well be the best.

Man, been watching some live videos of Myles, wow, he is awesome....  I hope VR gets him, he is a class singer with huge range and Slash needs that.

I like Myles' vocal work with Alter Bridge, but on the two Slash album songs, I am far from impressed. On Back From Cali, he sounds like he's trying to channel Axl in parts, and it sounds terrible. On Starlight he's a bit better, but during the high parts, he goes a bit Mickey Mouse which sounds really lame too.

No doubt he could sing anything given to him, but as far as writing new material for VR, if he were to be chosen, he'd really need to step up his game.
