yes, in the end the reasons don't matter to us. The fact is we have no US tour and nothing is even rumored in the near future.

If GNR tours the States, it will be more of the same. The Pollstar list for 2006 is a good benchmark. GNR won't drop drastically. They will lie around the same or a bit below. You guys have great points usually, but sometimes you give this band less credit than what they deserve. It's not like they will do shows and 2000 tickets will be sold in a 8000 seat arena.

However, GNR doesn't need USA. Americans are the most negative bunch of people regarding this band in the world. Look at Canada, there's a reason they went there. Madagas is right...they will most likely pull the same numbers in 2010 if they tour the US. This "they are finished" stuff is way too radical and way too black and white.

There might be other reasons than interest and "love for the band" as to why GNR doesn't tour USA. With all due respect, it was not your turn to get a tour this time around. It was South America and somewhat also Europe. They go to Europe now to cash in on the festivals. Go figure. They went to Asia because it can draw massive crowds. They went to South American coz they haven't been there in ages. It's clear as day. Not all things are because GNR is finished in the States or whatever. The first answer to a problem is usually the right one. It was simply not your turn.

But if the States wanna do the "we want the old band" stuff like Axlin says, then I say good riddance and let the rest of us enjoy the songs and you can stay home surfing the net instead.

Yes we're negative, but we also know what calls itself Guns N' Roses in 2010, is NOT Guns N' Roses.

I don't say that to be a reunionite, I just say that for what it is. Apparently the world were Axl Rose fans, America was Guns N' Roses fans.

I'm not going for Guns n' Roses. Im going for the music that's going to be played. I love Chinese Democracy, the band could be called Freddys Feathered Fanny Rash for all I care. Its got a line-up of great guys playing songs I like, to ask for anymore is just being ungrateful. I've accepted this band for what it is good, bad and neither.

If I was Axl, and this is just my take, I wouldn't go back to America for a long while.

Keep touring the rest of the world getting Rave reviews for fans who love your music. The U.S fans will be foaming at the mouth by the time GNR go back. Caldini's law. People are attracted to what they can't have.
Make your self scarce in the U.S market and the demand will go up. Supply and demand.
If he's doing this on purpose its a smart move that should boost concert attendance. If he's doing it by accident it's a smart move that should boost concert attendance

it is, but it isn't. I look at Gnr as two separate entities.....the core of the original band..Ax, Slash, Izzy, Duff and the new and post 1998, Ax, Dizzy, Tommy, Mother Goose and two hundred guitarists and drummers.:)

Yeah, it is and it isn't. Chinese Democracy stands on is own without any reference to Slash or Duff. I still call Star Wars for Star Wars even though none of the original actors did much on the three latest movies (quality of them  not included in the debate).

It's been too much fucking time now to start another this ain't GNR. Even a reviewer from Denmark said it; "New GNR that ain't really new any longer".

Like Stepvhen says, let the USA alone then. The rest of us wants to hear the songs, see Axl sing, hear DJ play and Tommy (THE bass player of GNR of all times) have fun playing on stage.

I say leave the USA without any shows for the rest of the year. Finish off this 1.5 year touring in 2011 and see if you can release another album. Then go out again where the album will sell, and judging by the last sales of the last one, USA won't be on top of that list. Some people want to have fun, other people want to rant about things that will never come again. That's how it is. I set entertainment and music first, technicalities and band name issues second.

I think that's the point though.  We (Americans) in general expect the real thing no matter what it is.  We don't settle for imitations.  I'm not saying it's good or bad, it's just the way it is.  That isn't limited to GnR, that goes for pretty much everything.

As far as Americans (again, in general) are concerned, the rest of the world can have this GnR.  That is what Axlin is saying and for the most part, that reflects what the American population thinks.  They will go see the real band, but not this.  I've been saying that for almost a decade now.

EXACTLY, some people just wanna bitch and moan it feeds their ego and gives a sense of identity. So happens a lot of the U.S want the "Old GnR fan" tag as part of their identity. Grass is always greener 20 years ago. For the rest of us who want to live in the present, this is the GNR of our ERA simple as that, and we are grateful we even have a gnr.
This ain't a dig at anyone, theres lots of people in the rest of the world who want old GNR and tone of ppl in america hungry for newgnr, its just the way it is

Talk about shooting your own foot.

Trade in a good live show and a great night out with great musicians for...

A night home with the girlfriend watching CSI on TV.

The real band ain't coming back. I've settled for it a long time ago, and so has others. Even the average Joe in South America or Europe. Another succesfull tour proved it.

But if Americans don't wanna play that game, have fun at home instead and let the rest of us have fun.

When that's said, GNR can pull of a fun tour in USA even today, just like in 2006. Crowds dont disappear in 4 years.
