Re: Who do you want as the opening act?
I'm not really suprised. Didnt that Eagles of Death Metal guy say that they got paid upfront for the whole tour because of Axls touring reputation?
Any credible band will probably be asking for serious top dollar upfront to be even consider being part of an Axl tour, the manner in which he boycotted the album release could have raised the concerns of potential touring partners even more and increased their asking price.
I'd say Baz and some up and coming bands are as good as it will get.
I'm not really interested in seeing opening acts at a GNR show cause theres every chance you could be left standing for hours on end. I'd rather roll in to the show half n hour before GNR should realisticlly be hitting the stage and find myself a good position.

Exactly, that was my main point for not being in a rush to get to MSG. I was prepared for them to start late. Luckily we went in in time to see the end of Papa Roach because the wait wasn't long. GNR went on promptly after they finished up. But you never know. You COULD be waiting a long time.

I liked Baz's performance a lot in 2006. I liked Guns' set a lot in 2006. If they could convince me that this show would somehow be different I'd be into it. But it's the same show, so I'm not going to pay for it.
Personally, an opener I didn't like would kill any chance of me going to see it. An opener I liked would make me really want to go see them. Baz is right in the middle, but since I saw that in 2006, why would I pay another 70 dollars for it?

I hope if they have two openers that Baz is on later so I don't have to see them both. At these shows, there are no seats at all on the floor, so hopefully Axl doesn't dick around too much. So, if it "starts" at 8:00, GNR should be on stage by 10:00, right? I mean, that'd be the earliest they could come on, in theory, right? 'Cause if this turns out not to be Baz, I ain't going to any opener.

It's Guns N' Roses - it'll probably be closer to midnight than 10.

I figure as much, for sure. But, I just don't want to fuck up in one of those mini miracles where they are on stage close to the real time. If the times are late going on at the other shows when they happen, I might even end up skipping Baz. But, as of right now I am thinking happy thoughts. There are no chairs on the floor at this show, so it could be a long wait.

That happened when I saw them at MSG. I was fully expecting and prepared to wait for them to hit the stage until midnight. But they promptly went on around 10. Luckily we went in to catch the end of Papa Roach's set, because they didn't come on too long after that.
So yeah, I'd shoot for 10 just in case.
