Re: GNR tour dates in Canada?
You couldn't pay me to go after the last fiasco, but good luck to those that buy tickets! You have a 50/50 chance at seeing the 13th version of GnR!!!
Word of advice: don't prepay for the hotel and don't even think about going if you can't drive to the show.
Re: GNR tour dates in Canada?
Oh, buzzsaw is angry because something is actually happening...
Look, it sucks that your show was canceled and not rescheduled. We get it.
But what are we supposed to do about it? Feel sorry for you?
It happened three years ago. I think it's time to let things go when you aren't even interested anymore.

Don't be an asshole HBW. I was in Montreal when Axl did his stunt and it is not fun. Not sure what happened with Buzz but that is part of the fool me once post I did earlier. You may not like it but Axl had pissed a lot of people off over the years with his childish behaviors.
Re: GNR tour dates in Canada?
Wow. No one would have predicted a complete saturation of Canada. Will be interesting to see if a US tour is planned in a similar fashion.
Still not believing any of this until an official statement is made.
Well I spoke to the radio station that is bringing them in Moncton and it is true James. For what it's worth anyways. Now the big question remains. Will Axl show up to all those gigs? Remains to be seen.
Re: GNR tour dates in Canada?
i happen to wonder, what is the capacity of those venues? because i don't see them selling a lot of tickets so they might want to go with a few thousand people shows.
and about what buzzsaw said earlier, to those going to the shows, always, in the back of your mind, have the thought that it's possible your show is a no-show. you'll be less disappointed. not trying to bash the band because if i would have 3-4 gnr shows within 3 hours drive i'd buy tickets to all of them in a heartbeat, but i wouldn't get too pumped up until the man steps up on that stage. that feeling is part of the gnr world.
so, have a great show to those attending. can't wait for the bootlegs.

The Bell Centre holds 2100 people for Hockey games. But for a show. Not sure. The Coliseum in Moncton holds about 8000 people max.

The 2006 Canada tour was successful to a point. Not every single show a sellout, but the few 'big enchiladas' were. The tour ran into problems here in the States.
I think they can do arenas there, but if/when they venture back here, they need to think long and hard about doing arena shows. I would rather they stick to Warfield type venues here so the shows don't get canceled. I'm sick of buying tickets to see this band only to see the show canceled.
They can build up some momentum on this Canadian leg and carry it over here in the States. I'm really looking forward to U.S. dates being announced so we can see how ambitious the band is going to be on this world tour.
They're willing to saturate Canada with shows in a short period of time, so what else are they willing to do?
Oh, buzzsaw is angry because something is actually happening...
That's a tad harsh. I think even the most negative Nancys want some sort of activity to occur because this has been an extremely inactive year.
You know Buzz is just itching to bitch about a set list....

bell centre holds 21,000 for hockey so it is a large arena.
As for a US tour, as I have always said 2000 to 5000 seat theatres with high quality acoustics are perfect for this band. Do a few arena shows in a few major markets-NY, Boston, Chicago....places where they have put more than 10,000 people in the seats on multiple occasions in 2002/2006.
