I actually find these threads interesting.  Even if I don't agree with what people say, it is interesting to see what the few that like the album like about it.  Some I just laugh at and others I understand why they might like it even if I don't.  These threads have been attempted before.  I don't want the thread to die, but it did just that just as every other one before it did.

My post was meant to be ironic, because despite all the bitching that everybody is so negative, when they are given a positive thread, it dies in less than a day.  As it is, I think I now have more posts in this thread than anybody does, and not one of them is (or was) me being negative.

I actually listened to CD for the first time in about 4 months today. I hadn't seen this thread so it wasn't like I felt prompted to do it, it was pure chance. All the BS and drama and politics and rumour and everything else aside it's a great album, even what I considered 'filler' in January sounded fresh and it was a pleasure to listen to.

I really like the solo in Prostitute just feels like it should be longer. That's what my friend said about all the solos. He liked them but felt they were too short. He really liked TIL though.

its like getting outside of the politics to look at the product....one of the reasons for this thread....to see what people enjoy about it and focus on those things a while

It's a kind of a cd that let's you into the artistic creation of Axl & company without having to live up to a certain standard. Physical Graffiti by Led Zep was that kind of lp were after they've lived up to certain formulas to make it in the music business they decided to cut an lp that is layed back and loose.
Chinese Democracy has that quality. If you think about it this cd explores many avenues of soundscapes than compared to the previous cds. I would have never thought that Axl would do a song like If the World or This I Love.  5
