If there was any bit of negotiation for a reunion Slash would have said/talked about it a long ass time ago.

I think there are offers (like adler said)  but not too much negotiation....i'd expect it goes something like this:

Live Nation: Hey everyone how about $150m for some live shows?

Steven: Sure. Bout Fucking Time.

Izzy: If i'm not in peru that day, sure I might pop in, why not? But can we make it quick, i got places to go.

Duff: If everyone is down for things, I'm down, so long as it's all fair and i'm respected.

Slash: Cool. But Axl has to show up on time, we're not cancelling any fucking shows, and I don't want any bullshit this time. We do things my way.

Axl: Am I dead? No? Then why would you send me to hell with these cunts. I'll play some shows under my terms not with who you tell me I have to.

Just my little fantasy of course....but my point is....there's probably occasional "negotiation" as in when someone's manager gets an offer of hundreds of millions of dollars they do the check around to find out what the status quo with everyone is, but at the same time, I also think it's probably true that there isn't some grand conspiracy or reunion plan that was being hidden from us and almost happened.

And I believe Slash all of a sudden having nothing but nice things to say about Axl in public was his way of talking about it. Again, it wouldn't benefit his own "business" to talk about it directly.

That was when the (mis)quote of Axl saying he "love(d)" Slash came out, too.

There is just no way that Slash wouldn't have talked about it, either in his book or when Axl called him a cancer.

Not mention that this was the time when Slash dropped the lawsuits against Axl, visited his house etc.
I know that Ross Halfin isn't the most reliable source, but who is that in the GN'R land? Halfin posted on his blog about the one or 2 show reunion (one of the supposed dates was the Download festival), with DVD release etc.. Later he said that everything was ready to sign, but one lawyer found an interesting note that said the others would sign away all their rights regarding GN'R (royalties etc.) to one guy. He didn't name him, but it's not hard to find out. It does sound familiar, although we don't know if it's true.

Re: Fernando's link to leaks? And the craziness that is gnr

Axl Rose said it never happened? Big deal! You can't trust the son of a bitch.

Duff McKagan said it never happened? Ha! Who gives a shit about some bass player.

Oh, Ross Halfin said it did? Believe! That's got to be the truth.

Have you read my post? I doubt it. Read it (again) and maybe you'll get it. You're way too fast screaming 'nonsense' without any background.

I did read it and I do understand what you meant by it.

And my post wasn't aimed at you. It was sarcasm. I'm just getting tired of seeing Ross Halfin being brought up as some kind of reliable source for material when it comes to this band.

Until I'm proven otherwise it's nothing but "insider" crap or nonsense if you wish.

The only thing that I believe was planned but didn't work out for whatever reason was the Very Best of Guns N' Roses set.

Maybe that's the best considering the fiasco that is Live Era.

welcome man

anyway i think you're pretty spot on...i also think that CD was more of a leaks album than anything, the track listing is what it is cuz they wanted to clear out what was known to be in circulation

speaking of that James, remember that "fake" CD back-cover that surfaced a few years ago? http://img113.imageshack.us/img113/637/ … covye7.jpg http://img113.imageshack.us/img113/chin … 1/w640.png

Looking at it this could have been a prototype of what CD was intended to be. Looks pretty similar to what we got and has almost the same amout of tracks and half of it is what we got anyways. The rest we know exist.
