Was eliminated in the last round.
Definitely voting for the Chili Peppers. Should have left several rounds ago.
chilis.... but i dunno about "several" rounds ago.... do i detect bitterness from a soundgarden record being eliminated?

Was never a big Chili Peppers fan. They're one of those bands I just like a few tracks from dispersed throughout their discography.
No bitterness. It had a good run against the odds. I think its better than a couple albums still up there, but I don't think Badmotorfinger deserved to win either. If Soundgarden wins, the right album is still in contention for it to do so. Had Superunknown went first, they wouldn't have stood a chance.
Funny how every album left but two were released in 1991.
the other soundgarden
I'm in shock. Neemo voting for Soundgarden? Did pigs just fly?
Re: Best album of the 90s elimination- Round 14
the ending of this will be among our most predictable ever....gnr vs gnr or uyi2 vs metallica i wouldnt be shocked at either
the problem i am finding on this elimination is that i'm voting the lesser of 2 evils rather than from my favorites i guess it makes voting easy for me but we should not have included gnr...they basically get a bye til the end...if anything do the tourney and then throw the winner up against gnr
Re: Best album of the 90s elimination- Round 14
I thought UYI being in this was interesting as we'd see how they rate compared to all the other classics. I agree that a UYI I vs UYI II showdown will be vomit inducing. I don't think that will be the case though. Common sense(and the intelligence of Evo members) suggests that one of those UYI albums is gonna go awfully soon. In fact, if the Chilis go this round, I may be voting off UYI II next. Gonna listen to Dirt on the way home later today as a 'refresher' to see if I feel it is above UYI II. I haven't heard that album in ages.
As far as voting strategy goes, that happens in every elimination. Look how Electric Tears snuck into the final four of the last one. In this one, you've been voting Soundgarden in every round. I know you don't like them, but surely you knew that neither album had a chance in hell of going in the first ten rounds. Had the pack of six voting for them every round chose differently and waited til later rounds to vote for it, this may have turned out differently. Its like I mentioned in an earlier thread, when people glom on to a specific album, it allows other albums to cruise right through. The only round where the strategy worked was the first one when the anti rap crowd(majority of participants) knocked Dre out of this.
I know some were pissed at Nevermind's early exit, well if 25% of the vote had went to something other than Soundgarden in those rounds, it might still be in this thing.
I realize it may seem predictable, but when you look at prior eliminations/tourneys, its not really that predictable. Does GNR place high? Yeah of course, but its a GNR board. Its to be expected. They aren't guaranteed winners though, and that's why I'm not really against their inclusion. Soundgarden or Metallica has just as much of a chance at winning this as GNR does. Maybe even Pearl Jam, but that's a bit of a reach.
Re: Best album of the 90s elimination- Round 14
I gotta say this is the most straightforward of all the tourneys we've had. Nirvana did go out a little early, but I wouldn't say it was extraordinary, myb a round or two each. Dre did get no respect though. That album invented West Coast Rap, whether or not you're a fan. Should have def won a few rounds, had some monster hits, and created Snoop from a nobody.
Overall though, it's dwindling down pretty much as I'd expected. Which I never would have imagined. If that makes any sense at all.
