I'm one of those 'secret weapon' guys! I think a tour with Bumble+DJ together could win over a lot of people alienated by the way the guitar parts have been handled in the modern era.

I saw the cruefest 08 video and I'm fucking sold on his talents now. From what i've seen he seems to have the pefect blend to play in both Slash's and Robin's styles in a way that's going to be exciting and respectful to the source material. Like he's blues rock, but also a bit out there, he just seems like the kind of guy that's going to be able to bridge that gap between AFD and CD to me.

My opinion is that he IS in GNR. That they rehearsed a tour and then for whatever reason the plans for a tour have gone into delay/slowmo like so many things in GNR land before them. But I'd bet the slowmo isn't connected to him, that he is still in the band. And I'm pretty damn excited to see the results oneday...:beer:

Jeez, I have a headache from trying to read that. It seemed less like a dj ashba chat and more like a chat between insane gnr fans. In true Nu Gnr fashion he avoided the few questions that had substance to them.

100% pure garbage and God shouldn't even allow internet space to go to waste on such tripe. Complete imbeciles asking questions, and he knows less about GNR than we do and it sounds like he doesn't even give two shits one way or the other. He also makes Fortus look like a talking encyclopedia of knowledge. In fact, if we were to put Bill Cosby, Ronald McDonald, and DJ Ashba into game of GNR Jeopardy, while I don't know who would win, I'd wager Wonka's last gobstopper that Ashba comes in third.

I would have preferred the usual "no comment" than the garbage spewed during this "chat".

Can this even be classified as a chat? I think a new word needs to be invented for what I just read.

If all else fails, he can bullshit about Ron's current favorite music in his MP3 player and what he thinks of Buckethead, the person who's shoes he's filling.

I thought the chatroom session afterwards was way funnier, with assholes pestering him about Dizzy Reed playing Pokemon and if Axl listened to Disney music as an influence.

What a sad state of affairs. I seriously think this "band" just reached its lowest point ever this evening with this "chat", and that is really saying something considering the highs and lows we have been through.

Now you know why he is not featured on the Evo banner, and wont be until he appears on some GNR album credits.

In DJ's defense, this wasn't billed as a chat for GNR fans to discuss GNR's past, present, and future. We all knew what we were gonna get out of this, which isn't much. We found out he's STILL in the band, whatever that may mean to you since he still hasn't appeared with the band anywhere. But he's still excited about being in GNR and working with Axl. This I Love is his favorite song on Chinese Democracy.

Like it or not, he has a built in fanbase (made up of mostly girls). They like the guy for his work in SixxAM, and I'm guessing his boyish good looks, and that's mostly who was involved in the chat. I'd say the ratio was 80% DJ fans (most of which didn't seem to like GNR), and 20% GNR fans, so again it wasn't strictly a GNR chat. Apparently he just likes to hang out (relatively speaking) and chat with some of HIS fans. There's nothing wrong with that.

All in all, I'd agree that it was a waste of time to an extent from a GNR sense. But to call it the lowpoint in the bands history is a HUGE stretch, as it wasn't meant to be about GNR.
