.Everyone knew about AFD, UYI's, Lies and TSI....that wasnt the case with CD....yeah it was a mythical release, but to back up the mythical you need to provide some band hype when it counts...yeah it was coming it was coming but when it came they werent there

Actually, the way TSI was handled is eerily similar to Chinese Democracy. Was basically thrown in stores with no effort from anybody, single selection so horrific that stations were cherry picking their own tracks, and the only promo was Slash doing an interview talking about it in People Magazine. While SIDHY did chart(it was played on top 40), the album sunk like a lead balloon. Also like CD, it simply felt awkward among all the other music at the time and nobody was interested. Only the hardcore of hardcores were listening to it.

Interesting what buzz says about the loss of songwriting. It's another reason I'd be interested to see DJ stay in the band.

Yeah, but TSI was a covers album. ALOT of artists don't promote covers albums.

Re: When All Is Said And Done...

A disappointment all around. The label acted like it didn't care. Axl couldn't care less despite protestations on the message boards. So what momentum develops when no one is pushing the material, radio, tv, video, print....ect.

This is a reason why you never pay commission in advance.

Perhaps Axl will enjoy working with less expectation, less technology, and less interest from the music world. Because he will never receive the same money, production, and facilities from the label again.
