if you guys like the dark elf trilogy and the icewind dale trilogy you should read the Dragonlance Chronicles Trilogy (Dragons of Autumn Twilight, Dragons of Winter Night and Dragons of Spring Dawning) and the Dragonlance Legends Trilogy (Time of the Twins, War of the Twins & Test of the Twins)
they are a different world that Drizzt's but they are still a fantastic set of novels....Tasselhoff Burrfoot and Raistlin Majere are among the greatest characters to come out of the dungeons and dragons novels

I havnt been reading books for a while, I lost interest during a long period of depression. I think my intelligence and brain power has definently suffered as a result. I've started reading again recently more as brain exercise to see if I notice a difference, I do already to be honest.
I'm looking forward to start getting absorbed into books the way I used to, and spending a lot less time brainlessly wandering around the internet.

neemo, I know you're not a horror nut, but you should check out Clive Barker's The Great and Secret Show. While there are slight elements of horror, its pretty much straight up fantasy. Cant really say much about it as I haven't read it since the early 90s, but it blew me away and I hate fantasy.
Just went to wiki, and apparently he turned this into a trilogy. Interesting. I'll have to reread it one of these days and dive in to those other two books. Like olorin, I used to read tons of books and pretty much stopped completely a few years ago. I'm sure post whoring at GNR forums didn't help things either. Hell, I still haven't read Slash's book.
While Barker is talented, he is very hit or miss.

I've started reading more books lately, I find it helps me get to sleep on a night if I read 30-40 pages in bed. Got two more Stephen King books to read (Cujo/Hearts of Atlantis) then I'll be on the lookout for something else, will have to remember this thread for recommendations

If you're on a Stephen King kick at the moment, you should read The Tommyknockers.
The missus picks them up for me so I don't get a say in which ones I read next 
I've heard Tommyknockers is a good read, also looking forward to starting the Dark Tower series as Im yet to read any of em.
Dont wanna derail the thread but whenever I go visit my girlfriends parents house it entails a seven hour ferry ride at night to get there. It's my favourite part of the holiday, have a strong joint on the deck and then dive into a stephen king book. Its the only reason I agree to go in the first place

i have a bunch including that 4 seasons novel, always meant to read it but never have gotten around to it, i also have the shining in hardcover some old version of it got it for $2 a deal too good to be true
