Damn.  Vivid imaginations going on here.  Apparently everyone forgot that people have seen the sideshow already on their last 2 tours, neither of which was successful in selling out smaller venues.  So after having poor sales (after the initial curiosity) and no radio success at all, they are going to suddenly sell out in the US where everybody wants a reunion?  WTF?

Carry on.

I don't think anyone is claiming they're gonna sell out MSG on 3 consecutive nights, and 30 straight shows across the country.  IF they limit the shows to large markets where they have always done well, there's no reason they can't continue to do well.

With that being said, while I'd love to see them here in the US, it would be the smartest move to play a South American leg, build up some momentum.  Of course a little promo here in the US would help too.  No rush though, the album's only been out 5 months.  16

I think they have to do that.  IF they can go on a world tour, put on a kick ass show, and find some way to let people here know that they are doing just that (free concert on VH1 or Spike TV, DVD release, etc), and get TWAT out there as a single (for the love of God), then they would have a chance to do well here.  Anything short of that will be AFD tour #3 or 4 (whatever it is) disguised as a CD world tour.  Very few are interested in that.

^ That could make a killer show to kick off a tour, playing a venue of that capacity 9 Gonna wait patiently for an announcement before I start buying into rumors.

Haha, I was thinking the same thing.  Where is Buzzsaw and what have you done with him?  JK.

You're absolutely right Buzz.  I'm of the belief that nobody (outside of the forums) care about the current band now because they haven't given anyone a reason to.  Hearing the classics is great and in the past the past most of the people who went to the shows wanted to hear those and none of the new stuff.  But if they want to move forward, and after releasing CD you'd think that'd be the goal, they've got to start pushing that down people's throats.  It was released, 2 singles were put out, but without much support.  They have to drum up some momentum and carry it into the States, like you said, doing some sort of hour long feature on CD where they play selected tracks live or something would be a great idea.  The media and rock world, even though they can be rough on Axl at times, I think is completely open to giving GNR a more than fair shot.  Not every album gets played on radio stations front to back prior to its release and not every album gets put on Rock Band games.  All the possibilities are there and have been there.  Hopefully they'll take advantage of more of those in the near future.

It's negativity disguised as being positive.  If you really read it, it isn't all that positive at all.

I'm not always negative.  I've made suggestions like this before, but people get so caught up in the fact that I'm saying it that they don't take the time to see what I'm actually saying.  I think there's a place in the world for this Guns N' Roses if they can ever embrace what they are instead of what they were.  I've always thought that.
