Re: Circuit City to close all stores
Here's the "sales" from my local CC...
30% off Car Stereos & Equipment
20% off all CD's & DVD's
10% off everything else
Wow what a NON-sale. If you wait for the right time, usually 25% off DVD sales can be had through internet outlets such as Deep Discount or DVD Empire, the 20% CD's sale would be good if they had prices closer to Best Buy or Wal-Mart but it's closer to retail, and the rest suck.
10% off a $2,000 TV? Or even 10% of video games? Wow, what a doorbuster. I wouldn't even get out of bed for less than 30% off, then you might motivate me.
I'll wait and see what product they move. I'll check back in 2 weeks, and see what's up. Until then - fuck off.

Their pricing is terrible on major stuff so far. It's only a day or two into it though. As I said, one of my best friends runs a store out here. If any major discounts are coming up, I'll post here so you guys can get a heads up.
Thanks for the help, and post them just for curiosity's sake.
But I think the problem is that the liquidators will work store-specific. So a deal I might be able to get at a local CC, 99% likely will not be available nationwide.
I know other people that were heading out Saturday or today to look at deals, and my response was - why?
The good deals are down the line. They aren't going to give it away right away.
Exactly. A manager from the local CC told me that this was just the first "round" of liquidation. He said eventually they'll have some pretty good deals but we most likely won't see anything over 65% on large items because they can always sell the rest of the stock to another chain like BB or walmart.
Re: Circuit City to close all stores
Okay guys, the real good deals have finally arrived in the final months.
Although TV deals still ain't overly great. (30% off)
Currently all Music, Movies, & Video Games are 50% OFF. Half off.
It ain't gonna get better than that. My store's stock is slim, and i'm sure other stores are going fast.
Re: Circuit City to close all stores
Yeah I meant to post. I was at one last week & TV's 30% off. Which actually was really good considering they had a 65" Mitsubishi HDTV for $1500, decent 50in for about $1200, and 40in for about $900. I was close to buying one. Close. I think that's as low as they'll get. I then almost bought a decent printer/scanner/fax since I need a printer anyway. $70. Again, I withheld the urge.
Re: Circuit City to close all stores
The TV's just didn't wow me enough. Maybe it's this economy.
I went over the music, movies, & TV carefully, and got what I wanted, but alot of the stock was already gone, and hit.
Probably the weirdest thing was, I bought one of their aisle DVD sales racks off of them for my room.
This thing is bitchin'. I even asked them to keep the 'sales' flyers on it. So I got this big ass sales rack in my room with all these $9.99 & $14.99 signs. It's great!

I did that at a comic book store that was going under once. It's a totally badass, unique way to display a collection.
