Re: Radio Reacts To Guns N' Roses Single
The shocking thing to me is that only CD stands out really among the crowd.
AC/DC & Metallica will continue to fall. Rock n' Roll Train will get old quick (it's a good song, but it's AC/DC, we've heard this stuff for 25+ years), and The Day That Never Comes, despite being a good song, is once again a mainstream effort by Metallica, that simply blends into radio, and will fade away.
I truely believe that a large majority of CD not getting played in certain areas are due to asshole DJ's who think they're gonna teach Axl a lesson.
Re: Radio Reacts To Guns N' Roses Single
what I'd really like to know is:
a) when can I purchase this single through itunes?
b) why in hell was it not available for purchase on day 1?I guess they have their reasons huh?
I'm sure the Best Buy deal excludes them from selling it at iTunes. Of course, there's no excuse for not selling it as a digital download at bestbuy.com. Or if they're not going to sell it, then give it away for free and make even more publicity for it.
I would love it if they did a digital single with the album version, maybe a live version or two, and a demo version or alternate mix that we haven't heard. Maybe even an early '98-'99 era version. If they sold that for $5, I'd be all over that in a heartbeat.
Re: Radio Reacts To Guns N' Roses Single
Most requested of the week for LA's KROQ106.7. Chinese Democracy is higher than it was last week... even with IMO negative DJ opinions. I am super surprised.
Kings of Leon Sex On Fire
Metallica Cyanide
Slightly Stoopid 2 AM
Guns N' Roses Chinese Democracy
Incubus Love Hurts
One Day As A Lion Wild International
Paramore Decode
Rise Against Re-Education (Through Labor)
MGMT Kids
Hollywood Undead Undead
Re: Radio Reacts To Guns N' Roses Single
Pump Your Own Octane top 5 tonight, on Sirius Octane 20 was as follows.
5) Jet Black Stare - Ready To Roll
4) Saliva - Family Reunion
3) Five Finger Death Punch - Stranger Than Fiction
2) Rob Zombie - War Zone
1) Guns N' Roses - Chinese Democracy
It's been #1 every night I've listened so far. I missed last night and Friday, but I imagine it got #1 both those nights as well. I missed the Real Rock 20, which they have every Sunday, so I'm not sure how it fared there or if it was even eligible since it came out midweek last week. They re-air it tomorrow at 5, so I'll try and catch it then.

That Jet Black Stare song sounded like shit in concert.
Right now, i can't think of any two songs more suited for topping a chart than War Zone and CD. War Zone is kicking 20 tons of ass.
This song is doing way better than a lot of us predicted.
Way to go Axl.

Chris Moyles & co played it on BBC Radio 1 this morning - they said 'Hmm, not sure about that one' Then went on to tell half the country that 'its not really Guns N Roses because its just Axl & a bunch of session musicians'. Then they ended up talking about VR instead.
